It was obviously a joke. Her whole I have to talk to him about it bit. It was obvious she thought they were going tonight. She looked like she'd been bawling her eyes out backstage when they came out to get the results.

I think the crowd were right to boo!
I do think Craig should've finally given them at 10 especially after giving Ali a 10 - I don't think her AS was as entertaining or flawless...
What do they have to do to get a 10 out of him? I'd like to know too.

but it wasnt flawless was it he was out of time comingd down the steps

you cant mark one dance a ten then another with a mistake a ten aswell it doesnt make sense

it wasnt when she said i'llhave a word with him it was her whole demeanour like she expected a ten

I'm shocked that didn't react in a stronger manner (she was joking).
If Craig could give Ali's AS a 10, Ricky's Tango should have received the same mark.

Good on Natalie for being a great teacher & getting Ricky to the final.

I took it as a joke. Especially as Craig gave Ali a 10 despite her and Brian flufing up their arms at one point in the american smooth towards the start. I'm fairly certain she said "what do we have to do" basically he's the only judge they still have to please. Gives them something to aim for next week

I know Craig spotted the timing issues when they got down the stairs, but I don't think it's wrong this time for Natalie to react in bewilderment when Craig didn't show his ten. After all, Ricky did put out TWO show-stopping routines on Saturday night.

Nevertheless, he's in the final, and I can't wait to see his quickstep again (not sure if I am looking forward to his latin number though).

I don`t - of the two better dancers in the competition I do think Ricky deserved to stay over Ali tonight.

I thought tonight Ricky & Natalie were endearing in their reactions. Just like when Alesha got through to the final over Gethin and Matt and there was that fabulous shock written all over her face for a split second, I felt that we saw that the anxious Ricky who has sometimes appeared fake in VTs is actually maybe the real Ricky. People can't fake it in that split second. I had thought Ricky was laying it on a bit thick in the weeks previous to this but I'm gonna have to revise my opinion of him. Now I not only want him to win because he's the best dancer but because he actually seems quite straightforward, where before I thought he was rather manipulatively contrite.

Every year it seems the couples look forward to getting that elusive 10 from Craig moreso than from any of the other judges -

He's a little thick, granted. But he surely knows he's very talent at this dancing malarky, thus the perceived (rightly or wrongly) smugness/conceitedness seen previously.

I noticed for the first time the agony when he and Natalie were at the dance-floor, waiting for what they thought were the inevitable (i.e. going out of the competition). They were both trying not to burst out crying. That's genuine emotion and people will react (positively) to that.

I didn't see what was wrong with the timing coming down the stairs. and from her face, neither did Natalie. I suspect after the tongue-lashing she received from Len after the Tango she chose not to say anything.

However, I did HER amazement at the standing ovation to the crowd. You could tell she wasn't expecting that and I also saw/heard her thank the crowd.

I agree. For the first time this series they looked like they were actually feeling something, like they really cared. They did themselves no harm at all tonight. It's a pity it took something like nearly going out (or thinking they were going out) to get some emotion into that partnership.

I think there has always been emotion in that partenership BUT I think that someone may have had a quiet word with them and told them they needed to communicate it on the show. Because there was a marked difference tonight BUT I don't think it was in their partnership.

THe same thing happened to Alesha, she NEVER got a 10 from Craig until the finale,
I think craig will give ricky a 10 in the finale like he did Alesha.

And there, ironically, wasn't it Len who refused to play ball?

My heart went out to Ricky tonight. He looked like a little boy who was about to get his favourite toy confiscated for something that wasn't his fault.

It's such a shame all three couples couldn't have been in the final. The public (most at least) would have preferred it surely. You saw sense (in my view at least) over the three couple semi final dance off BBC but if you'd see sense about installing a contingency plan in the event of injury (not just talking about how you've got a few in mind but actually installing one) you wouldn't need to worry about a three couple semi final dance off. Next year if necessary (let's hope it won't be), please?

I agree that a judge shouldn't give a 10 when there have been faults. However, there were faults in Ali's dance too, so it doesn't seem fair that if she got a 50, Ricky shouldn't too.
Natalie is entitled to be disappointed, that doesn't make her smug or cocksure.

Craig never gave Mark and Karen a 10 when they did what was the definitive Argentine Tango. So why should he give Ricky and Natalie when he did actually see a fault in theirs?
