I do feel a lot of it was down to Brian for some reason he doesn't manage to relax his partners. I've posted several times about how nervous Heather was last year and how Ali is now the same. I don't think it's because he's a bad person, I just think that maybe he concentrates too much on the steps in the hope that it will give his partners confidence.

I think as far as the latin dances went the female celeb with the right look and attitude was Laila, look at her Tango and Paso, unfortunately she couldn't master the complicated technique or steps required.
If only they could have made the Hokey Cokey into a latin dance they would have been onto a winner!!

I think he himself is a highly strung person, as evidenced as how mad and frustrated he can get in training (that’s not a negative comment; everyone is different) However if Ali is herself jittery this does not help. He is the teacher first and foremost, and has the bulk of the responsibility for the tone and behaviour in the training room, and unfortunately this didn't help Ali with her nerves.

I don't think it would have helped at all - remember that God awful afro wig they put on Denise Lewis.

Yes Brian is very intense and I do think maybe to much pressure etc made Heather and Ali nervous.

Anyway full credit to Ali for the amazing dancing she gave us and hope she has much success on the tour.

Yes I do think that.
Her look was just not right for a sultry AT or fiery Paso.
Sadly I agree with those who question her acting ability.

I think so too and that helps him portray the 'excitable' side of the Latin temperament.
I also keep thinking back to that OTT ITT interview which to my mind was totally unnecessary and added to Ali feeling self conscious.
I'm sure she would have rather been left to get on with it but that isn't Brian's way it seems.

I did think it was a mistake last week, sending her out to do a Latin dance in a pastel pink dress.
It just gave the wrong image, she'd have been more convincing in a fiery colour or black.

She wasn't convincing in black last night for her AT.

I don't see that myself.

We see only a few minutes of training out of hours and hours.

And i'm sorry but we are all human. I know i've lost my temper before and got a bit irritated by people.

He behaved like a complete pussycat!
He was pretending a bit of "stern" for the VT but he's about as good at acting as she is.

I'm surprised that Ali wasn't able to express more passion in her ballroom tango. Ali was quite strong technically in her ballroom dances and the tango is a dance where, as you improve on technique, it helps you to express passion. Specifically, accentuating the contrast between the slow and fast movements, the quick head movements, powering forward and adapting the typical posture can make the dance feel and therefore look more passionate. But disappointingly Ali's tango looked a bit too much like some of the other ballroom dances (which she does very well).
