I was wondering if anyone on DS, has the magic touch of their favorite for the beginning always winning? You would think statstically someone fits this description (In that they seem to think right in line with the average general public, consistently).

The only ones I've really followed are this xfactor and the past 2 American Idol (I'm only 1 for 3)

No this years X factor i liked Jamie from the start.

There is probably a few who have the winner as their favourite from the beginning. The only time this has happened to me is with Leona.

My fave hardly ever wins.

In American Idol my fave from the start has ususally won, (David, Jordin, Kelly, Reuben, Kris), but in X Factor my fave at the time was Leon and he's the only person i've backed from the start who won.
Saying that, i've been backing Olly from the start so it might be twice it's happened

this year i was going for john&ed, danyl and jamie but by about show 4 i really like joe

In series 2 I wanted Shayne to win from the beginning (well since judges houses)
In series 3 I noticed Leona at judges houses and was surprised by how good she was, but she didnt become my firm favourite until a couple of weeks into live shows
In series 4 I loved Leon right from his first audition, but didnt think he had a chance at winning

on Pop Idol i backed Will Young right from his first audition, just couldn't see past him. I feel the same about Olly, fingers crossed it works!

Have been wrong every other time though LOL

Ill tell you tonight when Olly wins. He's been my favourite the whole time.

Tonight it will be the first time ever that my favourite has ever reached the final.
IF Joe goes on to win it will be a double whammy.

Strangely enough it has happened for the last two years. I thought Joe would win from the start this and Alex last year. The same happened this year in BGT I wanted Diversity to win from the start.

Only once - with Leon Jackson. Right from his first audition.

I backed Steve, Leona and Alexandra from the start.

I watch Strickly and have backed the winning dancer every year so far.

This is the first x-factor I have watched and I was supporting Stacey....so nearly there.

Well, I follow quite a few acts through the audition stages - normally around 8 then in the final 12, I pick 3 favourites stick with them and give them my 100% support.

So out of my 3 faves per series, this is the closest I got to winning in each series:

Series 1: Tabby - 3rd.
Series 2: Shayne - 1st!
Series 3: Leona - 1st!
Series 4: Same Difference - 3rd.
Series 5: Diana - 4th.
Series 6: Stacey - 3rd.

S5 was my worst year only getting 1 of my faves to 4th. Not bad though.

Not any more. I normally pick out the winner at their very first audition. I got it right in seasons 1, 2, and 4, but not in 3, 5, or 6.
