Showdances

Although it's fun to defend different celebrities on here, I thought it might be time to think about next week's showdances.

Last year was pretty amazing with Lisa and Brendan setting the comedic scene (and last night's acrobatic performance seemed to sport the anaconda lift), and I was lucky that I enjoyed both Rachel's and Tom's showdances.

What are the predictions for next week? Do you think it will be quite predictabl?

Natalie and Ricky doing a lift showdance, which could be either crowdpleasing or a complete car crash (I personally think Natalie is too tall for that - so I hope she won't choreograph this).

Ola and Chris doing a cheeky chappy routine maybe based on the charleston, which could be either too.

Or maybe both couples do something unexpected (a la Muppetgate).

I do think Chris and Ola's showdance will be based around the Charleston if not then i think they would have missed a trick.

Ricky's dance will i expect be based around his Macho image.

The safest prediction I can make is that far too much will be made of the showdances for my personal taste....as if somehow the result of the showdance-off deserves to have a wildly disproportionate bearing on the outcome of the whole series.

Does Ricky have a Macho image? It doesn't come across in his dances (and I don't watch Hollyoaks). Anyway, Natalie is a ballroom dancer, isn't she, so maybe she will centre it around ballroom.

Can't remember what happened last year but certainly in Series 6 the phone lines closed virtually as the show dances finished so they could have had little or no effect on the outcome depite the hype.

If anything, Ricky is not macho enough - he seems to be relatively shy and retiring. In fact, he could do with a bit more I think.

Where'd you get the macho thing from?

I agree with this, he's seems quite introverted. Not pushy and macho.

Because he hasn't put his personality 'out there' like Chris who is Mr. Extrovert it's hurt his chances of winning a bit - I thought he was more open last night, but I'd never say he was macho.

I think it's a cert we'll see a Charleston-based, comedyish routine from Chris and it will be great.

I'm PRAYING Ricky and Natalie don't go for any of that acrobat stuff - we saw what happened to Lisa and Brendan last year, and I do have a nasty feeling Natalie might be seduced by the idea. I think they should go for a really classy AS kind of thing and make it all Hollywood. Best option to compete against Chris if you ask me.

Mind you, I'm not in the least bit bothered who wins, I'd just like to see it as close as possible.
