I think Ali was doomed with that comment about her Gran also, and the kiss was cringeworthy.

I wasn't keen on Ali bringing up her grandmother. It seemed a touch desperate. I did wince when the words left her mouth.

Maybe she was asked to say it? You never know with these VTs what's spontaneous and what's pre-planned.

Anyway, I don't think that's what really let her down. It was her Argentine Tango. It was do or die time. Ali had one last chance to prove she could get into character and tell a story through the medium of dance. She didn't manage it.

I didn't like that moment either.

It seemed staged/forced.

But I hold Brian more responsible there.

There are so many theories as to why Ali was 'doomed'. Kiss, Granny, acting etc.

I think it's fairly accepted that last night either Ricky or Ali was going to go. Ricky danced better. Ali went. Seems straightforward enough to me.

Surely nobody here thinks it really made any odds what Ali said or did last night? At the risk of repeating myself everybody is well aware that Chris is miles in front with the public vote and it was just a toss up between Ricky or Ali which would go first Had it been Ricky ejected last night there'd be threads on DS blaming Natalie for her choreography and / or Ricky for his 'bandy legs'...but I daresay they'll reappear next week

Before last night I was convinced Ricky was going BUT after the show I wasn't sure anymore. We actually don't know how the public vote went last night. All we know is that Ali got the least. Ricky could have actually got the most.

It just goes to show how, most, people make there mind up on how the couple dances on the show. Its all to play for next week and I for one am very excited.

Well if we are on the subject of acting - why is it Ali can only do the fairy princess role?

Hah! I must be the only person in Britain who thought it sweet. I was sober too, so can't blame alcohol on missing the cynical move of "coming out, out" during SF night

I am glad someone brought that up......I was thinking good god woman you are supposed tobe an actress......she really couldn't pull of the emotion for the Latin dances.....I have never seen her acting but I can imagine it is not good.

I don't think Ali should have mentioned the grandmother story, the kiss was cringing, and I certainly don't enjoy watching a nervous dancer. I can't relax when I watch her because she's so nervous.

You're right

Make up your minds!

The choreography was too hard.
The kiss was wrong. The dead Gran was wrong. Brian was a b@stard. I've even seen: her pink dress last week let her down!!!

Find an excuse and stick with it.

There isn't one. Her time was up. She was neither the best dancer or the most entertaining. People love Chris and last night they decided the best dancer should be in the final and that wasn't Ali. No other excuse.

I have to admit that i thought that same.

I thought the kiss was lovely and i don't see the big deal with that, tbh.

Chris was always going to get to the final. It was between Ali and Ricky and Ricky upped his game last night. He was fab. I don't see any other reason.

Ali or Ricky?

Last night it had to be Ricky to stay. No question.

Well unless I'm very much mistaken and you know something different. Last year's winner was male! Infact it's very even in SCD.

S1 - Natasha
S2 - Jill
S3 - Darren
S4 - Mark
S5 - Alesha
S6 - Tom

I agree, surprisingly, for an actress never pulled off the "character" in her Latin American routines, her balance was on a number occassions, awful, she was hardly ever called out on it, unlike Rachel Stevens who was constantly pulled up on it by Len. I thought Alis AT was abysmal, she was great at Ballroom though, but i never felt caught up in her dances, found my mind wondering, not a good sign.

I agree although I liked her ballroom dances mostly.

"Ali is agreat dancer, but throughout the competition she was constantly being picked up for mistakes by the judges ,only minor ones admittedly, but mistakes all the same. However when it came to the time that the judges had to wave their table tennis bats, the scores did not reflect those comments, hence she was consistently overscored. I was not at all surprised that she went out, although she probably didnt deserve to"

I disagree with the last part I thought her AT was worse than Chris's rhumba and the AS over-marked. It's difficult like Lisa she did one good dance and one which really wasn't and I don't think she should have gone through because of that. Chris's rhumba was technique light and had bad hands but Ali's AT was really awful. One of the reasons I don't rate JfW is he doesn't see this and calls Chris's fans idiots.
