The X Factor track record is not good. Can't see Joe or Olly changing things and becoming stars.

Shayne Ward's last album sold loads, and his last single got to number 2 didn't it? I just don't get why he siddenly disappeared

Oh he will.

I have never seen such manipulation by the judges with Olly - he really is the embodiment of the Emperor's New Clothes.

How Louis could suggest he was possibly better than Robbie Williams, Gary Barlow or Will Young is a mystery to me...and his performance with Robbie was akin to two drunks doing karaoke

^ I reckon Olly could be as good as any of those that you mentioned.

Gareth Gates was on Flop Idol, not Flop Factor.

I seriously think Stacey and Danyl are the only ones with some longevity. Even though I hate Danyl's voice, he has a huge backing appaz, and he is technically good.

And Stacey is just phenomenal. She's going to be huge.

The others... meh. Cba.

Agreed. Especially saying he is better than Gary Barlow. Barlow is a great pop songwriter.

A bloke dances around the stage and sings averagely for a few weeks and he becomes 'better' than long established pop stars. Madness.

Gareth Gates wasn't on X Factor, he was on Pop Idol. Add to that, he didn't even win that show. However, he did manage a decent career for a short while.

Bad example, really.

As for the others; I believe Shayne is still producing records, but isn't very well publicised. He's still signed, though. So that leaves Leon and Joe. Leon quite clearly flopped on SyCo, but JOE?

How can we use Joe as proof of anything when he hasn't done anything yet? He might flop, sure. But he might not. You can believe that he'll flop and that's fine - it's your opinion. But it's not proof of anything.

It also depends on how you define "flop." Most seem to define it on how big a public profile you end up with. If you're not in the papers every week, then you're a flop. Doesn't matter if you actually made a decent career and are making more money than most of us do in our daily jobs. In that respect, even Leon isn't a flop, unless he's gone back to working in the Gap?
