Humax HD DTR channels missing

Hello - first post. Have had great help from Les on AVforum but perhaps others here can help too?
My FOXSAT-HDR suddenly appeared to loose a lot of channels - incl BBC2 and Channel 4.
If I auto tune no channels are found. If I manually tune and select ALL transponders I get 444 channels with many duplicates but still no BBC2 or Channel 4.
I have tried a factory reset without success (No satellite signal found - postcode not valid). Have downloaded the application and loader SW and swapped over the dual dish feeds. Aerial technician coming tomorrow - at cost if no fault found. Maybe this is a warranty job? Help!

Sounds like your dish is slightly out of alignment. The postcode validation is done from the Eurobird satellite position which is slightly further East than the Astra group. Normally the dish will see all the satellite signals ok, but it may have moved and is only picking up part of the group.

Yes,

After suggesting a number of things, then finding that the OP can manually tune into the channels OK, but not get the Freesat EPG or past the Postcode check, both Graham & myself, have suggested dish alignment as being the likely culprit.

Rgds,

Les.

Great minds and all that...

Sorted!!! Just about sufficient signal, according to the technician's spectrum analyser. He decided to go aloft and found that the dish was pointing in exactly the right direction BUT the LNB was faulty. Not delivering horizontally polarised signals. New LNB - dish only installed two months back - so no charge.

Many thanks for helpful comments
