Owl City - Fireflies
Since this seems to be on a few Top Ten of 2009 lists recently, I thought I'd post a link to the song that it's very obviously "influenced by" (and I'm being generous there) for anyone who isn't familiar with it.
Such Great Heights by The Postal Service. |

Been hearing/reading about this song for weeks now and finally got round to listening to it. I love it, but don't think it's *that* good?

As I thought, it's been made available on iTunes early, presumably because of a few fake versions creeping up the iTunes chart. It's a certain uk no.1 I'm sure.

Such Great Heights by The Postal Service. The song isn't great, the lyrics are odd on fireflies. |

Did you even read my post?
it sounds similar i suppose, but the majority of people who like it may not have heard the postal service before, so it would sound like something new and different to them. |

Does anyone know the official release date? Because DS is saying 22nd Feb, yet it's already been released to itunes, or a radio edit has. Is February the physical release then?

Yes, it was originally meant to be released Feb 22nd, but as I predicted, it got released on download early - presumably because there were a few fake versions floating about on iTunes. I'm a bit miffed that only the radio edit is available as opposed to the full version with the longer intro and the first chorus. But I'm sure that will be released Feb 22nd as originally planned.
Owl City is just one guy isn't it? Singer/songwriter/producer Adam Young. ![]() And Owl City is just one guy, Adam Young
