I think you need to watch the comments by Simon after he sang that song then. Simon said he was a bit nervous at the start which caused some shaky notes, other than that, it was brilliant.

But the supposed off key screech was at the end!

I commented to my son during Joe's performance that you never have to worry whether he will hit the right not or not because he always does. Even Louis said that it was note perfect.

Because it wasn't off key.

I put it down to nerves and moved on... I might be annoyed when lesser singers like Lucie and Lloyd were going offkey (cvonstantly) or out of tune but Joe proved he could sing. Who wouldn;t be pooing themselves with 20 mill viewers?

I think there was something wrong with the backing track - I noticed three different times that the sound went funny - once during Leona!

Was he off key? I didn't notice as my ears were still bleeding after listening to Olly.

Joe did wobble a little ... but it's all academic. He won.. the also-rans got their deserved kick back to obscurity.

Just say you didn't like him instead of fabricating the evidence.

There was a point where Joe struggled in DSB. But hey, big night, millions watching etc. Anyway, he did well all those other weeks. Matters little.

I think on the Climb there was a fault on the track or the note change is really odd!

I actually thought Joe had a very 'off' night last night - his 2 performances were flat - not singing wise, but they were very emotionless/mechanical. I think the nerves really got to him last night.

The only note he really bummed was when he switched to his vibrato at the end of one of the songs, and he clearly went at it a little bit wrong. Note for note, Joe has been the best singer all the way through this years contest.

Bum note?

I didn't hear it. I was thinking too much about him being the winner.

Joe performed twice live on GMTV and Lorraine this morning after 2 hours sleep.

He was great.

Not many able to perform live and be perfect first thing in the morning on GMTV. ”

I have seen at least 2 other winners sing on that song the morning after. Little Joe is hardly a phenomenon is he?

Everybody has bad 'moments'. It's up to the judges to assess the reasons for these bad moments, and whether they are due to one of problems or just general bad technique.

If he even had one, why should they say anything about when Olly butchered the first part of the climb and nobody said anything about that either. Plus Olly has been horribly out of key in some weeks of the show especially when he did fast love and nobody said anything then either.

Simon had a bloody cheek to criticise Joe's performance of the climb after Olly's dreadful performance of it just before. He was clearly trying to bolster Olly's chances of winning by putting down Joe's performance. I think he knew that Olly was in trouble after that performance, his face while he was performing said it all. So he decided to play dirty.

You forgot to mention that Princess Cheryl and Simon would be locked in an embrace during all of this!
