It wasn't totally outlandish to think Jedward might get a special slot, considering Paul McCartney has a sense of humour and said they were the act he liked on the X Factor. This is Paul McCartney, he can demand what he likes if he's performing. Although I did specify in the rumour thread that I thought it might well be BS - check if you like.

Still disappointed though. X Factor missed it's chance for something memorable and funny. Instead we got a rather forgettable, slightly pointless "all finalists" walk on.

No imagination.

I had a funny feeling at the start of the show that we might not see them as Dermot made some comment about people forgetting them and that would've been scripted. It's like they were planting a suggestion. The twins never even got a solo part to sing in the group song and there were no close ups of them during the group song with Macca. I know they wouldn't want any of the contestants to appear to be getting preferential treatment but I think the main reason the duet didn't happen was that they didn't want to risk Jedward upstaging Joe or Olly tonight and they are downplaying the impact Jedward had on this years show. They don't want people saying that Joe is a poor winner or that Jedward are the real winners.

I'm just annoyed that they blatantly used Jedward to try and boost their ratings tonight by having Louis go on Sky News and say they'd be performing . It's like there's been no gratitude for the huge ratings they got due to all the Jedward publicity and they've carried on using them right to the bitter end .
