Olly won

I wanted him to win out of the final two, but that aside, does anybody else think this is a blessing in disguise? He won't have to release that awful song and Simon will probably sign him anyway.

What did Olly win ?

The runner-up has outsold the winner 3 times out of the previous 5. Alexandra might outsell JLS eventually but both did well. This year I don't think either will but when Joe's recording career fades he will find an alternative in stage musical.

I hope so, Olly was great tonight and I honestly think he will have more success after the show than Joe will, winner or not.

Agree

Dermot said earlier about 4 singles, a number one album and sell out tour. Alexandra only had 2 of the singles and JLS got the rest

1. Not to have to be associated with that dreadful song.
2. A chance to release a good song instead and one that wasn't written for Joe.
3. The chance of being as big as JLS.

All in all the best deal of the night!

I also wish Olly the very best of luck for the future, however, I have my doubts about being signed up by Simon though.

Hope so OP ... Olly is def the winner in my eyes anyway .... I think the lack of excitment for Joe says it all really ....

Considering Olly got the lowest amount of votes one week, he did great

it could be a blessing in disguise, Olly needs a more fun song than the Climb if he's going to do well.

still not convinced he can be a big star though, after all he came rock bottom 1 week of the vote

With the best will in the world - and this is not aimed at being a negative response - but what evidence is there that he will have ANY career in popular music, in spite of the last twelve weeks? He has been compared (in a over-hyped way) to the likes of Robbie Williams, Gary Barlow etc etc...but these acts are still very much around and likely to sell product for a good while yet. So what market does Olly Murs possibly fit into, if not that one?

I appreciate that some fans might be trying to look on the bright side, but why should this guy be remotely successful?

The crowd also cheered Joe after he'd finished singing, so I wouldn't say there was a lack of excitement.

What market is Joe going to fit into?

I think Joe has great voice and well done for winning. However I think all the songs his sung just blend into one.
