The runner-up has outsold the winner 3 times out of the previous 5. Alexandra might outsell JLS eventually but both did well. This year I don't think either will but when Joe's recording career fades he will find an alternative in stage musical.

Dermot said earlier about 4 singles, a number one album and sell out tour. Alexandra only had 2 of the singles and JLS got the rest

1. Not to have to be associated with that dreadful song.
2. A chance to release a good song instead and one that wasn't written for Joe.
3. The chance of being as big as JLS.

With the best will in the world - and this is not aimed at being a negative response - but what evidence is there that he will have ANY career in popular music, in spite of the last twelve weeks? He has been compared (in a over-hyped way) to the likes of Robbie Williams, Gary Barlow etc etc...but these acts are still very much around and likely to sell product for a good while yet. So what market does Olly Murs possibly fit into, if not that one?

I appreciate that some fans might be trying to look on the bright side, but why should this guy be remotely successful?

The crowd also cheered Joe after he'd finished singing, so I wouldn't say there was a lack of excitement.

I think Joe has great voice and well done for winning. However I think all the songs his sung just blend into one.

if it had gone to the public vote the week jedward were out, olly wouldn't have got anywhere near the final.
