The Closest Ever - didn't Shayne Ward win by only 1%

If it really was the closest ever final (as just stated on ITV2) then it must have been close. Shayne Ward only beat Andy Abraham by 1% I thought?

Will we remember Olly and Joe by 2012 - maybe they will still be around to perform a duet at the 2012 Olympics opening ceremony once they become world superstars. Or maybe not!

Imo Joe won by a landslide

No - there was 1% between them at one stage in the final but Leon won by 55 vs 45% in the end so it wasn't close. Leon's winner's single, his more moving 'family video' and his ability to connect with the audience better gave him the win.

I haven't and neither have a lot of my friends! His third album's due to be released early next year. Shayne was a worthy winner, unlike Steve or Leon.

Aye, and Rhyddian's actual talent gave him a career.

G4 33%

Shayne 51%
Andy 49%

Leona 65%
Ray 35%

Leon 55%
Rhydian 45%

Alex 58%
JLS 42%

Let's not get into a Rhydian was robbed debate. It was what it was - in the end its the public choice on the night and on the night Leon worked the public better.

If the voting was close Dermot would have said so as it gets people voting. He specifically said "I have a feeling it's going to be tight" which is his opinion and different from actually saying the vote is close.

G4 only got 34%? Thought it would be a lot more.

Joe got 61.3% of the vote in the final. He was a clear winner and deservedly so.

Indeed. He was head and shoulders above Olly in terms of performance and singing tonight. He did so well.

That 1% nonsense was in the days before people on phone-in shows had to be HONEST after they got caught cheating and falsifying voting figures/using staff members posing as 'competitors' etc etc so they keep quiet nowadays about how voting is going!!!
