BARB count BBCHD as a separate channel (it doesn't always simulcast BBC1). ITV1HD viewers (because it's a red-button option) are automatically included in ITV1s figures.

Both Frank Skinner and Alexander Armstrong have both filmed late night comedy pilots for bbc one.But I think Alexanders show[hattrick produced hignfy spin off previewing the week instead of reviewing it] is planned for Mondays when Graham isnt on. Franks show is basically question time with comedians.So will probably air on fridays.

Wouldnt be surprised if Russell Howards bbc3 show gets promoted aswell, his ratings on bbc3 are about the same as Grahams were when he was on BBC 2.

It's no secret really Paul O'Grady will be going out at 9pm.

Thanks for that expalnation but surely ratings are supposed to relate to programmes and if a programme is simulcast its ratings must be added - otherwise BARB ratings for that programme are just wrong IMO.

You dont think EE's highest rated episodes of the week being on Monday & Friday for the last 7 years is just a coincedence do you?

WOW at Emmerdale! I was pretty impressed with EE managing 11m on Tuesday, but definetely didn't expect Emmerdale to manage 9m especially as there isn't any really high profile stories airing this week. If the snow had been next Thursday I expect we could have seen figures of around 9.5m for the big episode. I really never thought I'd see Emmerdale hit 9m ever again. Just shows nothing is impossible. Also for Corrie to get 10.7m in usually its toughest slot of the week is notable.

Not sure really what to make of The Bill's rating-it's higher than expected, but then again I didn't expect Silent Witness to top 7m and Corrie to be near 11m and that 15% share isn't the best. I reckon when the weather settles down it will too settle down to around 3.5m.

Quite surprised ITV NaT is still managing figures of 3.5m even with the much weaker lead in. I knew the strong 3-4m ratings were heavily boosted by the snow, but I thought a lot of it was due to the strong lead in from AS aswell. Obviously not-or has it found new viewers?

That 4.8m for Celebrity Mastermind just shows I think that the regional news lead in was heavily boosting it, because it was still up against Emmerdale, but just following on from a different programme.

CBB is still performing decently, just a shame it's being totally overlooked for its final series by snow. It's actually half decent aswell. Better attempt than in previous years anyway.

Also it shouldn't go unnoticed really that apart from Monday, FIVE have pretty much been above 1m in the key slots despite airing all repeats (bar IRT on Tuesday). I thought they would have performed a lot worse this week.

NOT TRUE thursdays usually rate better than fridays in the past and emmerdale was always against eastenders last year on tuesdays so you cant compare.
Monday is the most watched night of the week outside of the weekends so obviously its ratings would be highest on an monday

I bet Five are kicking themselves for not starting their shows this week although I expect they'll still do well next week plus CSI: NY which has been heavily promoted since December.

The British press are reporting that NBC wouldn't renew Hasselhoff's contract following his drunken behaviour.

And they are lining up Howie Mandel to replace him who is one of their golden boys having hosted Deal or No Deal USA and his own hidden camera show... both of which have since been axed. He's a stand up comedian, TV host and actor but is also 54 years old and Canadian. So I don't see that pick helping them either with total viewers or, more importantly, young viewers.

I'd love to know how much these would actually cost, why would millions tune into these at this time?

Very good ratings for most last night, the stand out being Emmerdale breaking ~9m. The other soaps did well, as did Silent Witness... I did read though on Torvill and Dean's Twitter than the show tonight for DOI is live (I thought it was just going to be a load of VT's), which IMO will actually do very well if it is indeed live.

CBB is holding up well, while The Bill can only just get 4.5m, which is... pitiful.

A few interesting statistics based on BARB's latest update with the all-day shares:

Big Brother still doing well for C4, i think its topped the ratings for C4 yet people are like oh its dipping, its all downhill. I say give credit where credit is due. C4 are doing to be totally lost when it finally goes in the summer.

Superb rating for Silent Witness, about a million up from what I was expecting. I'm guessing tonight's episode will be down due to the Dancing on Ice competition, but this series looks like it will average over 6m throughout which would be excellent.

Not too good for The Bill. So many viewers watching TV, yet it only scrapes past 4m with a poor share. The F Word did quite well for C4.

Brilliant set of soap ratings yesterday, especially for Emmerdale. I didn't think 9m was possible for the show anymore, but yesterday proved me wrong. EastEnders is still ahead of Corrie, even though it's not been good for the last 2 episodes. I reckon they'll be pretty much neck and neck throughout the year in the overnights.

CBB still above 3m (including +1), so no dramatic loss. Decent ratings for the show so far, though I don't think it'll do too well tonight with the tough compeititon at 9pm and usual poor slot later.

Just looked at the officials and incredible timeshifts for both The Royle Family and Doctor Who. Shocked to see Royle Family take the bronze medal for third most watched show of the year!...with EE and Doctor Who just behind.

Also interesting to see apart from W&G the top 10 has the EXACT same shows as last year. (W&G replaced by SuBo-which also a huge surprise to make the top 10, but deserves it).

Interesting that within the top 10 in raw figures BGT, XF, The Royle Family & IAC have all seen increases, but EE, DW, Corrie, DOI & SCD have all seen decreases.

HD included would put DW in 3rd...
