Quite.
Perhaps ITV would have scheduled an extra Emmerdale and Corrie tomorrow morning with a bit more notice.... ![]()

We might get some Sunday morning figures on Monday then - be interesting to know how the Corrie and Hollyoaks omnibuses perform, though I'm sure they'll both be slightly dented by the tennis.

Eek! That's going to get hammered. It already does badly but against a major sporting event it will absolutely crumble.

It's going to be horrible. ITV are going to sink to a horrendous all day share.
Coronation Street was hit hard last night. I wouldn't think the crossover with Big Brother would be that severe. EastEnders has had it's lowest week since the new yera, but it will build up momentum again. |

I agree - Dancing on Ice and Wild at Heart may rescue it slightly, but the daytime's going to be awful.

Can the same be said for the other soaps? |

Doctor Who was also filming in the snow, so will have snow scenes broadcast in late May/early June.
but when is the new series start? I reckon the BBC should start airing it at 8:30pm on a friday night as it would do well against corrie and have an EastEnders lead in Is there any news on the Hour-Long Enders epsiode and what ITV have got lined up for the 18th and 19th? |

The BBCs commitment to regional news gets flushed down the toilet again given BBC not having regional opt outs for The Politics Show. Still the BBCs public service broadcasting extends just as far as showing viewers photos of snowmen I suppose
Why cant the tennis be on BBC Scotland ? ![]() |

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is that The Politics Show remains on BBC1.
Last year's mens final weighed in at 4 hours 22 minutes. Currently tomorrow's coverage has been allocated a 4 hour slot on BBC ONE and the first half hour is presumably just buildup since it wasn't due to start on BBC TWO until 8:30am. |

No, I didn't make it sound like EastEnders dipped to below 4m - that's how you chose to read it. It's still had a brilliant start of the year, but it did have a low week compared to previously. Nothing major though.

Surely that will depend on whether or not the tennis overruns.

Wouldn't The Politics Show just stay on BBC1 though? Just get delayed until the Tennis ends? There isn't much on after it worth keeping in the event of a delay, just repeats until the EastEnders omnibus at 3.05pm, which is a repeat itself anyway.

Isn't The Politics Show live? They won't want to delay it too much. Might not be suitable for guests etc.

LOL! Just ran a search and the most recent rating I can find for the Corrie omnibus was 400k on November 8th 2009 against BBC One's coverage of the Remembrance Sunday service. (4m, 38.8%)
To be honest I could see the Murray match pulling in a much higher share than that. Corrie is toast! |

Potentially record lows for ITV1 tomorrow morning. ![]() The Tennis share is the main story, doesn't Breakfast get over 50% anyway against GMTV Kids programming |

I think you are getting a tad carried away, the Sunday morning ratings already are very low so going from say 0.9m to 0.6m wouldn't really effect the all day share, trust some people trying to turn it into a ratings war. I doubt T4 sets the word alight either.

Exactly Corrie is already toast on a normal week so it's not really the story of the day. Only people who want to score points against ITV or Corrie are really interested in what the normal mundane competition is getting.
It's almost like if the match was on in the middle of the night and people saying "Ouch, Horrible ratings for 'Nightwatch with Steve Scott' last night"

If potential or close to record low ratings for ITV1 daytime is not the recipe for a good story or a story worth telling then frankly I don't know what is! |

Just watched TV Burp on ITVPlayer. I think ITV may be going for the 'Hole in the Wall' affect with it in order to boost ratings for other programmes - The Bill, Popstar to Opera Star, Coronation Street, Dancing on Ice and Wild at Heart all popped up on it in quite an entertaining light.

I thought it was interesting he included a Sky1 show. If he does move to Sky1 he better get used to doing that because ITV will block all of their shows, like the BBC used to do when he first started.
