DS have made a mistake. No 20 should be:

20. On Christmas Night - BBC One, 11.30pm - 3.4 million, 23.8%

Jay needs to understand that nowadays, unfortunately, BBC tend to win by default. The schedules, yesterday, should have been:

BBC1
17:30 - The Gruffalo
18:00 - Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special
19:00 - EastEnders
19:30 - Doctor Who
20:30 - EastEnders
21:00 - same as proper schedule

ITV1
17:30 - Emmerdale
18:30 - Coronation Street
19:00 - Ant and Dec's Christmas Show
20:30 - Harry Hill's The Best of TV Burp
21:00 - Coronation Street
21:30 - same as proper schedule; half an hour late

ITV would have at least, got decent ratings with Ant and Dec, along with TV Burp. And Doctor Who would have got bigger ratings being in an EastEnders sandwich.

The reason ITV never "try" is because of BBC's 'blandish' and repetitive line-up of: dancing >> Doctor Who >> EastEnders >> [insert comedy here] (I'm not trying to attack the Beeb, but it seems to be the same shows year after year: Royle Family, EE, Who, Strictly; at least ITV have something different other than the soaps)”

Eastenders has gone up against both Harry Hill's Tv burp and DOI in the past and still came out on top

Id have gone

BBC1

530pm SCD
630pm My family
730pm EastEnders
8pm Dr who
9pm EastEnders
930pm Comedy

ITV

530pm Tv Burp
6pm Comedy Reapt (Mr bean Maybe?)
630pm Corrie
7pm Emmerdale
730pm Filler
8pm Corrie
830pm You've been Framed xmas special
9pm Mr and Mrs(If need be)
10pm Film

Yes, I wonder why you'd give ITV the worst schedule imaginable...

why whats wrong with it?whats the point of having hour-long Emmerdale against Drwho? and i thought a split corrie would work better and start the evening with Classic Comedy

So Noel sold Crinkly Bottom to Santa then - and Ant and Dec finally get their house party. Good show, but might have been better placed before Christmas rather than after it.

Also TV Burp's Review of the Year could have easily been stretched to an hour, whilst the BBC have a completely unnecessary episode of EastEnders in the schedule tonight. Elsewhere though and I suspect a lot of people will be trying out their Christmas DVDs tonight.

Also anyone else think C4 have shot themselves in the foot by revealing the results of their Greatest TV Show of the Noughties poll. It's something I'd have probably watched, but it seems pointless now we know the outcome.

P.S. And when people do their fantasy ITV schedules, they need to remember BBC1 and ITV1 aren't working together to complement each other. Indeed on Christmas Day the BBC pretty much calls the shot and ITV have to schedule against them the best they can.

Pirates of the Carribean is a premiere.

Previous PoC premieres have got massive audiences.

Not really it's boxing day and EastEnders very rarely have extra episodes (Only at xmas)
Plus it continued from last night whille Monday is likely to be the start of the new week

I thought it was awful. A second rate 'Noel's House Party'.

It was quite good. As good as any episode of Saturday Night Takeaway is - it was pretty much the same stuff in a new set with a Christmas theme.

Oh it hasn't been on here

I'm in the States for part of the week most weeks, sometimes get confused where I've actually seen a show

The Ant and Dec showed looked very poor from the two times I flicked it on. The first time they were dressed as snowmen doing very poor jokes and the second there was some sort of panto with a listers such as Justin and Ryan from Im a Celeb. Cringeworthy, And I usually really like their stuff.

I thought it was below par for Ant and Dec actually. They're usually much funnier.

Sunday - 800,000 (4.0%)
Monday - 600,000 (2.8%)
Tuesday - n/a
Wednesday - n/a
Thursday - 600,000 (3.1%)
Friday - 400,000 (2.0%)

Which gives an average of about 600,000.

Isn't that just what Saturday Night Takeaway is anyway? Noel's House Party. Always amused me that ITV did so well at weekends with two formats they pinched from the BBC dancing albeit on ice although the BBC had Strictly on Ice first and then Noel's House Party.

3-4m for EastEnders tonight. It's not normally on Saturdays and viewers won't know about it. I'm hoping it's more in the 4m range because if it's under 3.9m that will be a new low for the show.

I wonder about the Hamlet ratings. I enjoyed watching the cast again - excellent production. Didn't last the whole 3 hours + unfortunately.

I've been saying for years that Ant & Dec have ripped off Noel Edmonds and Morecambe and Wise (for that matter). It was absolute rubbish when I flicked over to see it.

Fingers crossed for Doctor Who next week... and I actually
liked EE on on a Saturday.

Not bad for a show that literally consists of coin flipping! It's outrating Live From Studio Five, but then so would a testcard frankly.

Looking at next week's schedules Big Fat Quiz is going to really suffer for the first half an hour against the last ever Gavin & Stacey.

It's not 'Saturday', it's Boxing Day. EastEnders will get at least 8m viewers tonight.

Remember it's 'trending on twitter'

I don't think it matters what it's boxing day how will people know it is on Andy? I'm hoping it gets higher than 3.9m I suppose it might pick up any viewers who notice it in their tv guides but I can't see many looking out for it especially as it's not a normal EE day.

I hope it does OK at least because the media always stick the knife into EE over ratings at the best of times and that can be even when it's doing OK. When it's done badly they love it even more.
