I've tried to schedule two recordings for tomorrow night. In both cases there is already another recording scheduled at that time, but that shouldn't be a problem as I've got a twin feed and I've just checked both are showing a good signal.

However in each case, it's saying there is a conflict with the already scheduled program and won't let me record another. What's going on ?

The problem you are getting may be caused by the recent 1.00.11 firmware update. Release note details from Humax support had the following information

Due to the changes in the Foxsat-HDR software some users may experience schedule conflicts when scheduling recordings; this is due to the information being broadcast for some regional channels. Humax are working with freesat to have these issues resolved.

This software version does not allow users to edit Schedules that have been originally created via the Guide (i.e. it is not possible to change the start time, end time, or repeat mode of an EPG create schedule). This will result in an erroneous Date and Time.

It is still possible to create a new schedule via the Schedule list.

I beleive the fix is to delete the exisiting schedules and re enter them.

Hope this helps.

Dan.

It sounds like you have been caught by the BBC's problem with Regional & National channels - I take it at least one of the programmes you are trying to schedule is on a BBC channel? It is trying to schedule more than one event of the same programme on different BBC channels - look up in the 900s - causing an artificial conflict.

Rgds.

Yes in both cases, a BBC channel is involved

Could you give us the details of the 3,( or is it 4?) programmes involved.

I'll have a look and see if there's any way round it without resorting to deleting all the Regionals, or setting manual timers.

The BBC ought to be made aware, also. They are aware of the general problem, and probably too late to fix for tonight by the time the complaint is looked into, but they need to know, to understand where in the chain it is going wrong.

At 21:00 I have "Life"scheduled on BBC1 and want to add "out of my depth" on ITV1

At 23:00 I have "The Bill" scheduled on ITV3 and want to add "have I got news for you" on BBC 2

I can schedule all of those progs OK with no conflict.

Probably due to my BBC1 Region which is BBC1 East (E), and BBC2 England, I'm not sure which Region you get.

Try deleting all 4 of those reservations, and start again, but try scheduling from 953 BBC1 East (E).

Also, do you get the conflict if you schedule Life from 108 BBC HD?

Also, you could schedule the Bill on ITV3+1, if your combinations of BBC1/2 region don't work.

I'm on BBC London. I'll try your suggestions later thanks.

One other possibility which I've found from surfing is that the box may believe that I only have one input as I started off with that and a loopthrough. The suggested cure is to do a factory reset, but I'm guessing I will lose all my schedules if I do that ?

Aaaah, you didn't mention that before

Yes, it needs resetting to recognise that second feed if it was added later, and watch for the 2 Cables Recognised message in setup.

You will lose your schedule, and user settings, and volume reset to 50%.

Tip: If you have a Digital Camera, take close up shots of your Schedule screens, then you can be sure you don't miss any.

Or you could Press Menu > Set up > freesat tune (don't enter just highlight). Red Green Yellow Blue Green Yellow Blue (ignore the no entry icon it still allows the input). 'Antenna settings' select 'connection type' and select 'Two Cables (Same)'

Did that and sure enough it was set to one cable. That surprised me as I had it on loopthrough in the first week and I'd have thought that would have been seen as two cables. Also I've managed to do a lot of dual recording since putting in the second cable, I must have been lucky with the channel combinations.

The above suggestion did wipe my schedule though

Any other known engineering short cuts like that ?

Apologies for any confusion caused by not decaring the full status

Another useful one is this for enabling CRID data viewing :-

Hidden Menu - Enable CRID Test
------------------------------
Menu > system > Diagnostics >Press ok, Red Green Yellow Blue Green Yellow Blue, scroll down to enable CRID Test.

Once this is done the CRIDs show on the programme details screen when you press the 'i' button twice when on a Live channel, or pressing 'i' on a programme in the EPG, or 'i' against a Timer in the Schedule.

BUT BE REALLY CAREFUL, THERE ARE SOME NASTIES ON THAT MENU THAT DON'T OFFER YOU THE "CONFIRM" PROMPTS !!!

Apologies for shouting,

Rgds.

You clearly never tried to record BBC HD and ITV 1 HD at the same time. It's not possible with only 1 cable (or a box that thinks it's only got one cable).
