Joe McElderry single chart position...
It's currently number 1 on iTunes and Amazon.
opinions anyone? personally i am happy. it will hopefully annoy everyone who is buying RATM out of spite, regardless of whether they like it, and those who think it will be 'funny' to have a Xmas number 1 with profanities in it. |

Embarrased to live in a country where everyone believes what cowell tells them too.
This track is awful. It has no redeeming features. Yet the masses still go out and buy it. That's capitalism for you. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer. |

The song was nominated for a grammy (well before it as realised that it wasn't written for the movie it was featured in), so it was some pedigree. That's not to say that singing a cover version is an act that has any heart or soul about it. Still, he seems like a genuine kid, and it'd be nice for a moment for people to stop being so doom and gloom about everything..
Right now the lads thinking this will be his best Christmas ever, in a few years he will look back upon it with contempt. If this song is any good and if the public thought it was any good they would have bought it the first time round. |

the song is amazing plus i wouldnt buy ANYTHING i didnt like to be fair they could hardly of made anything worse than last year's disgraceful commercialised murdering of Hallelujah, but they've given it a pretty good shot here. the original of The Climb by Miley Cyrus was never the best song in the world anyway, but anyone with half a brain can hear that this year's winners song is dire - yet thousands of kids will go out and buy it because Cowell tells them it's good. i seriously worry for the future of music when we now have a generation of kids who just want to be famous and are being fooled into thinking that x factor produces good music. i'm not saying that all music these days is good, but i can only see it getting worse in the long run, as long as these kids continue to buy anything just because it comes off x factor, and they aspire to be on it. |

How boring is that song? The Climb, more like the north face of the eiger.
You seriously have to worry about the mental state of the nation when pure unadulterated drivel like this sells by the bucket load. Fools & their money are soon parted.

It saddens me. So what he seems like a decent lad but so did leon Jackson. Simon cowell is a master of puppets.

I'm glad Joe won as I think he is a good singer, but this song is pretty bland.
I don't know how far Joe's talents will get him without strong original material. |
