I realise that my voice isn't one of the best! to say the least! but this is something which i have just always wanted to do, and whilst I know there are millions of others who want the same, I just can't seem to give it up! Please leave your comments, good, and, more likely, bad!

p.s i realise theres no picture, my camera broke!

While I don't want to stamp on anyone's dreams, I do believe that honesty in cases like this is usually the best policy. Your voice is very weak, quite shaky and definitely not always in tune. Good news, these things can be worked on to improve them.

Now for the bad news. I don't think you can get anywhere in music if you mean on a national or international stage. However, as a local singer, with some practice and hard work, you might get some pub/club work. But know your place, don't be fooled into thinking that even if any of that happens that you are good enough to take it further because it's very unlikely. And don't believe everyone who tells you that you are good or better because they are probably lying to save your feelings being hurt.

If any of your friends or family listened to that recording and told you that you were good, then don't ever listen to them regarding this matter again because they are clearly tone-deaf or just lying, in which case chances are they will always lie to you about your singing regardless of how good or bad it is.

And finally, respect for putting yourself out there for criticism, that in itself shows amazing confidence and it means that you do have a good chance at local level if you are willing to get out there and try.

Good luck.

It is very hard to take criticism or negativity from people, don't let it get you down. Have an open mind to music in all it's forms and if you work really hard, you will see some successes.

I have been in a specific area of music for 15 years, now into freelance composing and photography. Remember that you are in effect a business, so it up to you what you charge for private events etc that may come your way, you will have to invest in what you do, instruments, CDs, PR, photos and artwork, mastering. It goes on.

Distribution sites like Cdbaby.com are very useful for unsigned artists. ( it is not important to be these days)

So keep at it. One important thing is, there is an audience for everyone out there...

I would never say never but on the voice alone you would need a whole lot of practice and vocal tuition.

Do you play any instruments or write your own songs? If you can write music and have something original to say then any vocal shortcomings become less important.
