I have enjoyed all the versions of Do They Know Its Christmas. I would really love to see another version of all the successful artists out there soon.

Anyone agree?

No definitely not. Band Aid II version the PWL re-recording was awful. Band Aid 20 was even worse. Nothing will ever beat the original of this song.

In case it's escaped people's attention this Christmas is the 25th anniversary of the original single making it to No1.

No way the original was good, the 1989 version was okay, the band aid 20 was rubbish, although, better than the x factor number ones! i can only imagine in 10 years time when they do the xmas number ones from 2000 - 2020 what tosh we will have to hear from the x factor!

for the most part, band aid 20 was awful - if i catch the video on one of the music channels i always pause it on the group scene and see how many of them are still around.

i'd guess you hear more about the people in the original version today than the newer one.

Please no more remakes of this song!

I am not really keen on the original either. Much prefer other charity anthem songs such as 'We are the World'.

Please God, no!!

The original was tolerable, although never a favourite of mine - but the subsequent versions have been a complete waste of time.

Band Aid 20, in particular, was horrendous.

Band Aid 20 was just awful. You can tell they tried to make in contemporary but in turn made it into the most unchristmassy song i've ever heard.
Not to mention that awful rap included in it. I was watching the video a few nights ago and seen Busted in it and the good version of the Sugababes, Ms Dynamite, Jamelia, Rachel Stevens...i mean i wasn't even around with the original and know so many more people in the original were so much more well known even in this day and age. Even Bono did a crap job of that line in the re-work.

So no i would not like another version of Do They Know its Christmas...more so because it would be like a Simon Cowell cash cow...there's no-one else to even put on it!!!

No, never again. They should never of bothered with the Band Aid 20 one which was abysmal imo.

Like many have said, I know more of the people in the original than the new one and where are half of the new ones now?

There should only be one Band Aid song and that's it imho.

Well I am amazed to read what everyone said! I loved Band Aid 20 (except for Dizzie Rascal), I thought the clips in the video of the children in povety (or whatever its called) was really sad. I'm suprised that people only liked the original, I am not keen on that one that much.

Maybe they should just use alot of singers for a different charity single song?

A load of alternative bands have got together this year to record it. F***ed Up, Vampire Weekend, Bob Mould, Tegan & Sara, Andrew WK, Yo La Tengo, Broken Social Scene etc. All proceeds going to various Canadian women's charities.

No I thought the last remake was terrible, and the original has been overplayed to death.
