720p or 1080p for bedroom LCD TV?
Hey guys, I'm planning to buy a HD TV for my bedroom. My bedroom is quite small, the "box" room of the house and it has space for a new TV.
I want to get a TV that is 22-26 inches and as I know, 720p is HD ready whereas 1080 is full hd. I'll be connecting up a blu ray player and I'll be getting a Freeview HD box (when they are available) my price range is up to £300 but if the quality of 1080p is a lot better, I will extend my price range. I'd just like to know whether I would notice the picture quality of full HD 1080 on a TV up to 26 inches or whether its best to just go with 720p? I'd like to save as much money as possible in order to get the freeview hd box ![]() Thanks

IMO, you wouldnt notice the difference in picture on a TV that size, and anything bigger would burn your eyes in a small bedroom.
IMO a better quality 720p tv would be fine. However im no expert.

I got a 1080p for gaming. as the rendering on a 1080p television would be much higher for gaming content (Which will render each 3d object at an higher resoloution than a flat image. I paid £170 for a 22inch TV
this TV might have more potential for future services. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...ag=3dmovies-21 |

Thanks for posting the link although it looks like a TFT Monitor rather then a HD TV?
It is 3D though and if your watching by HDMI it doesnt matter if it is an TFT monitor.

I don't think you're actually able to buy a 1080p TV that small. I thought the lowest was 32", but then again some monitors a are higher than 1080p so perhaps some enterprising manufacturer will start.
While I don't buy the "you can't tell if it's under 37 inch" argument, I wouldn't be bothered in the bedroom unless you're planning to watch a lot of blu ray on it or something! |

There's a small but perceptible difference in viewing bluray discs (the new TV is 1080p 24 the old was only 1080i). On a small screen TV the OP want's A better quality HR Ready TV will be miles better than a cheap 1920 x 1080 panel. I have a friend who has a small screen Panny LCD, the pictures are superb from all sources.
