The Stacey Solomon Appreciation Thread (Part 2)
Quote:
That's interesting! How long has it been doing that? Is that standard procedure for X Factor contestants? Can't find ollymurs.com!
I don't want to take anything away from Olly & Joe but it almost doesn't make sense that Stacey didn't make the top 2. I honestly believe she was best of the night and have heard so many people - even ones who didn't support her - say the same! Her Buble duet went down a storm (and is still going viral internationally!) - it's the top rated one on YouTube. With hindsight, he was definitely the right choice! I heard many people say they liked Joe/Stacey or Olly/Stacey but not many Joe/Olly. So she probably split the vote! Some people might have sat back and decided not to vote on Saturday, waiting to see who made the top 2. And the biggest damage was caused by being first on - 3 million less people saw her because of the Strictly clash! Anyway, what's done is done, just have to look to the future I suppose! They shouldn't have put anyone on while the programs were overlapping. Simon stitched her and Dannii up good style.

Admin Edit: This thread is a continuation of The Stacey Solomon Appreciation Thread
|

She was defo set up by being put on first, she should never have been first on, that was a disaster for a start.

Yeesh, I haven't been here in awhile (or anywhere on the net infact).
I was quite annoyed that Stacey ended up third when I thought she was the best performer on Saturday. She had the best duet with Michael Buble, while the others were disappointing. Joe was good as usual but didn't really shine as much as he can, while Olly was as tedious as usual. |

Well, I still say Stacey was stitched up
Stacey was never in any fear of being voted out by the public until in week 7 when Olly should have been kicked out but he wasn't. That was the turning point. Stacey had come 1st place in week 6, but because Jedward was kicked out instead of Olly in week 7 that meant Stacey would never get to the Final. The whole course of History was changed because of an error by the judges. They had been leaving in to the Public vote but didn't because they didn't want to lose Olly and couldn't believe he had the lowest vote score, so they kicked Jedward out and that was a big kick in the teeth for Stacey which meant she didn't get to sing the winners song and meant she wasn't in the Final with Joe, plus she may have won the whole thing if it wasn't for Simon making sure she didn't. He only wanted Olly in because it was his act and he didn't want to be without an act. This is only my opinion but the figures speak for themselves don't they. Never mind Stacey, hope you have the last laugh on them soon. |

X Factor: Olly Murs consoled by mum as results show he never came top in public vote... and was even beaten by Jedward
He now knows he wasn't popular all the way through and Stacey was. He can see that because the Judges saved him he took the crown off Stacey. Well him and the judges have to live with that disaster. ------------------ Full story here on original link. Read/See Here (Click) |

Guys, I just want to say that I agree that the final was not a level playing field and Stacey had many disadvantages but what's done is done and nothing can change what happened.
The facts are: 1. Stacey managed to come 3rd in the most-watched series of The X Factor ever 2. She topped the vote in weeks 2 and 6, came 2nd in weeks 1, 7 and 8, and overall was easily the 2nd most consistently popular contestant (after Joe) 3. Her audition alone has 8m views on YouTube and her performances continue to clock up more and more views every day from all over the world - her Buble duet is the highest-rated of all the performances across the weekend All of the above should stand her in good stead for a very bright future - this is what people should be focusing on. The rules state that the judges are to choose who to save based on the sing-off. Nobody in their right minds would say that John & Edward (with their sing-off performance No Matter What) should have been saved over Olly. It was right that he should have stayed that week. I like Olly - well done to him on coming 2nd. I'm annoyed and disappointed that she didn't make the top 2 but there's no reason why Joe, Olly AND Stacey shouldn't all have successful careers! |

According to The Sun, Simon is going to sign Olly - congratulations and good luck to him. I hope he does well.
But news about Stacey has been frustratingly thin on the ground since Saturday. Is it always like this with the runners-up after the final? It is right that the winner should be getting the bulk of the attention but I've seen NOTHING of Stacey - would be nice just to have the odd story to let us know what she's up to! However, I did see this one positive bit on the article in The Telegraph (last paragraph): "Fans of Stacey Solomon, the 20-year-old single mother from Dagenham, need not fear they have seen the last of her. Although she was voted out on Saturday night, she has already been approached with offers of music deals." http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/t...umber-one.html Hopefully that's true and the offers are excellent ones! |

X Factor: Stacey Solomon Says It Was ‘Rigged’ For Joe McElderry To Win http://www.anorak.co.uk/233816/celeb...ry-to-win.html
X FACTOR bronze medallion winner Stacey Solomon is on the cover of heat magazine, and she’s telling readers: “I reckon Simon rigged it!” Inside and the shocker news is couched in Stacey adding, “Only joking.” What about your own performance in the final? “I just got a bellyache and needed a poo…But I held it in and then the poo feeling went and it was so much fun.” |

Of course it was rigged so that Stacey couldn't win.
Pretty obvious really, you've only got to look at the voting. They didn't want a girl to win this year, so they made sure she couldn't and the only way was to get her out. It had all ready been said by the vocal coaches that Stacey's version of the Climb single was the best of the 3. So it's obvious they had to get her out, they didn't want her competing with Leona and Alex did they. |

The comments are true - the odds were not stacked in her favour. But honestly, we can't do anything about that now and we are just coming across as bitter. Let's focus on the positives that lie ahead rather than the negatives which cannot now be changed. Please! I'm sure that's what Stacey is doing.

I like to see justice and I didn't, Simon did a remarkable turn around with his acts, pity he didn't give Stacey the same chance. He always says he has to make life changing decisions, well he sure does, but they are biased in favour of what he wants not in favour of what is right. Stacey has been left right in the cold, just as if she didn't exist, and that can't be right, nothing against Olly, but he wasn't even in the race until Simon starting pulling strings and suddenly he appears from nowhere, another bit of Simon's Magic. |

It's going to take a bit for the injustice to wear off.

Simon did say all the duets were great on xtra factor, but then went on to say the moment GM came on there was a buzz- so regardles of how Stacey performed the fact is Buble didn't create the same atmosphere / excitement as GM and Robbie... this once again reflected in the votes anyway... here's a video of Dannii and Stacey talking after Stacey's elimination ![]() http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MJJGkJ_D-IU |

I was annoyed that Stacey didn't make the final 2, especially since I thought she really stepped her game up more than the other 2 at the final.
But since I've read that Stacey almost couldn't wait for the competition to be over so she could see her son again, along with her seeming look of relief at being eliminated on Saturday, I was slightly glad she didn't win. Though I still thought she should have made it past Olly. If dancing is meant to be his strong point then I really feel sorry for him.

Hope everyone's voted for Stacey on this poll:
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/s....php?t=1181063 She's currently a comfortable third behind Jedward and Joe - not bad! |
