Downloading MP3s on Amazon

on here ive seen it written that mp3s bought from Amazon didnt go towards the singles chart but on GMTV today i thought they were saying that wasnt true, so does or doesnt it??

The people who set up the RATM campaign weren't sure so they reccommended that people didn't buy them, but Amazon have confirmed that they do count. It's to do with the price that Amazon pay for them.

Well that's good, I'm relieved that I did my bit to try and get the Pet Shop Boys as high up the charts as possible with their latest single.

i believe it's mp3's that are sold for under 40p don't count toward the chart, from any retailer.

Wrong. As long as the retailer itself has purchased the song for more than 40p before re-selling it, it counts. Amazon sells the tracks for under 40p, but the sales still count towards the chart as Amazon purchsed the song for 40p (or more).

Short answer: yes, Amazon sales count towards the chart.
