so 15 pages in a day and a half means about 18 days from the beginning of the thread till regeneration. By my calculations, that should have us turning into part THE Colin Baker* round about the same time DT regenerates

*or variation thereof

Oh I'm so glad Catherine and Bernard were there with DT, at least they made it look somehow "natural", this guest hosting is not an easy job by the look of it. You have to be yourself for people to recognize you, and at the same time you've got all those, let's just say, "brutal" jokes scripted for you... I'm not criticizing, I like those jokes, even if they made me cringe sometimes, but let's face it, they have specific style, which doesn't suit every presenter...

Anyway, good show this time, shame about the peaceful resolution to "I should've been an assistant , not you!" I'd love to see a good old Dynasty, Crystal/Alexis style catfight between Jo and Catherine...
Jo Willey did my head in. If she had been companion instead of CT it would have made a Rose return look appealing

CT was fantastic, she totally stole the show, she was so funny !
I have no idea if she just put a very good act or if that's how she naturally behaves when she has a good time or if she was drunk and actually I don't care : she was funny, she was entertaining and she was sweet !

DT and BC were extremely funny too.
I just can't remember which one but there was one of DT's line that had me snorting with laughter in my morning tea
And the references to JB were funny (I particularly enjoyed the one about Muse singer ).
agreed. I'd love to have a chat with CT. In fact my ideal "dinner date" would be with CT DT and RTD can you imagine how much of a laugh that would be

DISCLAIMER - The only reason that The Barrowman isnt included is that I would spend so much time staring at him that i would miss everything the others said....and probably get asked to leave the restaurant

HAPPY BIRTHDAY EOWYN. Here is your cake

*pops head through door....*

hello? Sorry to barge in but I've noticed this is where quite a lot of the DW regulars hang out so I would just like to wish you all a very merry christmas-and hope you all have a lovely new year.

And enjoy DT's last (and probably very sad) stint as Ten.

Merry Christmas

HELP!!

In work we are changing users desktop backgrounds dependant on the 12 days of christmas. My "8 maids a milking" went down a treat so i have now been asked to create one for "10 lords a leaping". OBVIOUSLY this is too good an opportunity to miss.

So i am working on "10 timelords a leaping"

BUT I need suitable pictures that look vaguely like they are "leaping"

*facepalm*

EDIT On second thoughts forget the leaping bit i can edit that in later - just need full body shots of the ten (sorry Matt)

Or rather, to be completely honest, I stop pretending that I know more than I really do... It's a bit liberating in fact. And I don't care if it makes me look like an idiot, it surely is a sign of a good friendship if the other person is able to tolerate you in that "idiotic" state, right?. You know, you don't have to know everything or share exactly the same interests with other person, to still have fun and something to talk about... Or even when you have totally opposite views on something, you can still joke about it, like CT and DT with their horoscopes love/hate thingie.

I'll better stop, I'm either not explaining myself properly, or stating the obvious, never mind.

Did I mention I love Catherine Tate?

Very true...and i think that is exactly what we saw last night too...and I didn't mention this, but I loved how madly happy DT would get when CT would get something right!!! That is another sign of a great friendship....

Have to say that I am with Muttley and Macek on this, that I too don't feel RTD plays it safe...he repeats, definitely, but safe is a wrong word I feel. Same with Moff, even though I feel the Libraray two parter was a big greatest album, I too don't feel any of the repeated factors were because he was playing it safe. I may be less forgiving of the repeating factors of the Library story, mainly because Moff has the reputation of being a genius, and giving us new things, and that it was only his fourth story, so I feel kind of let down in that respect, because I feel the type of freedom that he got from RTD, he had more opportunities to do a completely fresh idea but he didn't. Anyway my main problem with the Library parter isn't even the fact that its a greatest hit album, more so that it tries to be too clever, yet so many times I am ahead of the Doctor, and that is annoying. But yes basically using a structure and and repeating some things from your past stories isn't playing it safe in my eyes, and less so if your are the executive producer, where you have to set up a theme and structure for your series, because that is the point, it can't all be complete random, not for a 13 part series. But on top of all that, for me it feels that the reason the things which Moff and RTD repeat are for two main reasons, either they absolutly love those things, like the Earth being in danger, or Everyone lives, or the fact that they truly do believe that is what the story requires. Same for Planet of the Dead, yes it is run of the mill stuff, but so much of it, while you watch it, and when you watch behind the scenes stuff, it really does feel as if they just wanted a complete romp, not because they were playing it safe, or scared to try something different, as RTD as proved with many of his episodes that he is willing to try different and daring things, like Love and Monsters, the casting of Catherine Tate, a suicide at the end of Waters of Mars. So why would he play safe when he does all those things as well? No simple asnswer is that he actually sometimes just likes to write a story like Planet of the Dead, and even in those he manages to get shockers in, like Cpt Magambo threatening to shoot Malcolm, I dare anyone to say that scene was predictable...

OMG...its stormy and it snowing...and I found this interview with DT!!! Video interview!!!

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/8418086.stm

Has some spoilery clips if you haven't seen some of the clips that have been out and about on the net. But what I love about that interview is when Lizo asks about the Tenth Doctor's last words, and DT seems geniunly happy, and says that he see it coming, but it is absolutely perfect!!!!

Good!!!!

Hello hello

Oh goodness it's getting so busy round here, with things to do and unexpected visitors.

Just hoping to catch up on Buzzcocks now. Then will try and catch up you've all written so much and been so busy.

Oh my, 8 days to Dr Who, and I've nearly finished all my Christmas preps and I've finished work, and it's just fun, fun, fun all the way now.

Hope everyone is well and happy and stuff.

So Buzzcocks now, kids home shortly, catch up on here. Will be with you about 9pm I should imagine.

Ah that was lovely. Lots of shots of him in my favourite suit and dare I say it purple shirt which I really think was his colour. I hope you can get it on youtube as I can download it then.

I can help, I've begun looking for clips for "Let's do the time war(p) agaaaaaaiiiiin !" and I'm having trouble with the line "it's just a jump to the left and a step to the right, put your hands on your hips, etc." Can you imagine how rarely they do that in Daleks related episodes ?
But Ten does jump (and to the left !) in The Stolen Earth when he is at the Shadow Proclamation and he goes to see the missing world : he steps on some kind of pouf and he kind of jumps.
