Apparently she's been on and off recording new tracks for the US release; recently with RedOne and The Neptunes. Her launch in the US is very close now; expected to be around March/April

Do you think she has what it takes to break america? The Broken Heels video already seems very geared towards a US audience (american football theme), however looking at Leona's low sales and dismal charting in the US, can Alexandra do it??

America is only interested in Americans.

If you ain't got a song as big as Bleeding Love, don't bother.

Maybe, it depends if radio over there latches on to her. At the moment it is extremely hard to get noticed on radio if you are not GaGa, Beyonce, Taylor Swift or Miley Cyrus. The thing that worries me though is that if Bad Boys is going to be the first single in the US I've got this feeling it will soon become Flo Rida ft Alexandra Burke. Americans will be more interested with the fact that Flo Rida is in it, not Alex. But best of luck to her, I'm not going to say that she is going to be as big as Leona was but I'm pretty sure she will have a career in the US.

Does that mean Leona should abandon Echo then??? As she has no bleeding love on there

Let's hope they lead with Bad Boys and not Broken Heels or she can forget it.

I don't like Alex, but I think she does have what it takes, Americans are in to all those songs like Bad Boys aren't they? Although I'm convinced it's a recycled Steps demo with a rap added.

Leona hasn't done well in the US has she? The labels really messed up cos Happy still could have charted better, didn't it peak at #27 on the Hot 100

Why US? Why? Seriously artists are becoming too obsessed with ''making it'' in America.

TBH they need to go with Bad Boys or Good Night Good Morning for the lead in the US, look what Lil' Wayne did for Jay Sean, Flo-Rida/Ne-Yo could easily have the same effect for Alexandra.

Ouch. She has a good chance but I think Good Night Good Morning ft. Ne-Yo has a much better chance of being successful in the US.

But Jay Sean's album floped, probably because the people were more interested in lil Wayne rather than Jay Sean himself. It depends on what comes out of the new recording sessions. They might have something else in mind.

True, she mentioned RedOne, but I don't see the album changing drastically. Hopefully that Akon collaboration everyone was talking about way back in March comes true. Alexandra Burke ft. Akon would be a good booster for the album.

Ugh America, if Cowell was proud to be British as he keeps saying, why not develop the European/British market.

Alexandra's not American. According to Wikipedia she's British.

Precisely. You're hardly going to pass up an opportunity to make an absolute chunk of money. He'll have her make the album here when the time's right.

Its about having an debut single that can't be ignored and a unique selling point.
