You're asking for trouble here donna, the dsbb crowd can't see the word 'Johnny' without foaming at the mouth and coughing up their kidneys.
I never really understood why. He always struck me as a fairly innocuous bloke. Lost points for his blatently obvious showbiz desperation, even more since I saw his website but gained quite a few by attempting to make amends with that Henry's Cat soundalike, whining streak of piss more times than I could have. Can't help you with your question I'm afraid but I'd keep your head down. You're unlikely to get a reasonable answer if you mention the J word round these parts.

Ooooo...........thats so not fair, JonDoe, as you well know this forum is nothing if not objective and supportive........
Not our fault that Jonny was a t*sser......... Anyway to try and answer donna's question - Kate had a regular show on Capital radio, sometimes with Andi Peters and sometimes on her own. The ones I heard were around the 10 to midnight slot and consisted of the usual fare - playing records, lots of banter with guests, phone in quizzes and chats of a light hearted nature, often with very young callers. It wasn't BB related - she had moved on by then At the time we had thousands of posts here about it and the concensus seemed to be that she was pretty good at it, a natural. The Kate-haters hated it, the Kate-lovers loved it and the neutrals ( like me) thought she did a damn fine job and perhaps would have better sticking to radio and who knows .............by now she could have been on Radio One. |

Are we to assume you approve of:- Pi*sing in a communal shower , Eating diseased toenails ( with apparent pride ) Shi*ting over hotel balconies , Forcing drink down the throats of commatose girls , Etc. etc. etc. Face it , Jonny was a complete pig . Who as a fireman , didn`t even know the "Recovery Position " So he was crap at that too. (Not that I have firm an opinion you understand. )

Lord I thought she had got a job on radio up against Vaughan for a minute - that would really scupper Capital. Kate is excellent on radio - she knows her stuff musicwise, she relates well to the 10-35 listeners and the older ones too, with the right producer she was very inventive doing everything from 30 minute talk slots and spur of the moment competitions to OBs in Leicester square and she appears to be very organised and focused (which must be easier when you don't have to worry about which Sci Fi character Iain Lee will mention next or what that cameraman is pointing his camera there for) Hopefully Capital Radio realise this - she was easily as good as their better DJs and ought to have her own slot.

I thought Kate was good, I used to listen to her on a Sunday afternoon,I but wondered if it was because she was with Andi Peters. It was broadcast on all of Capital's stations, not just London's. I was surprised when they replaced her.

Get the dogs ready ![]() I have lived! and in some of the roughest places in the country..yet still I would not choose to live like that! In my opinion, Alex behaved with dignity and integrity throughout BB and since, unlike a few others ![]() Back to the subject onhand..I heard Kate once on the radio and thought she wasn't bad

.Kate has made no secret of needing some time off from a busy 2003 (do you know there was hardly a day when she wasn't on TV), so I expect Capital had to reluctantly say goodbye (the listening figure were excellent by all accounts) |

Sadly , despite your obviously extensive , event packed life , both these qualities seem to have escaped you. Never mind ....................... Perhaps when you are out of your " teens "

Well I think you and Jonny may be of the same "ilk" but I don't think most northeasterners would generally do that sort of thing nor would anyone from most parts of the country come to think of it. Just what "ilk" are you exactly!

As Kate was working a 6 day week with RISE and a Sunday radio show and we have no idea what she is doing next or when she knew what it was, or when it was assumed RISE would end, there are an infinite number of possible reasons why she isn't doing her Sunday show anymore - not least of which was that Sunday was the only day she could do a show. Capital still has its DJs in odd slots with Margherita dumped in at 2200 and Debbie Mac doing the 0100-0400 and the Tarrant and Fox moves are still to come, so it doesn't look as if the autumn changes were full or final anyway. We'll just have to wait and see if Kate does show up on Capital again or has been taken on somewhere else. Given she seemed to produce good audience figures and Capital will need better audience figures in the post-Tarrant world it would seem wiser if they employed her than let her go. |

Oh come off it. Some Kate fans will claim she was good on radio, even if she wasn't. She ok on Capital, when I have listened in and that's all, she wasn't that great.
If she was as great as some of her fans are making out, there is no way capital would want to lose an asset to their station. I would be VERY surprised if they took her back. Kate's off our radio stations and off out tv's, and lets hope it stays that way, she has had more than her share of 15 minutes of fame. Now she needs to get back to reality. Oh wait , that's Jade too isn't it. |
