Hey all. Got a query about Blu-ray players as I'm considering getting my first one. I got a 26" HD TV for my birthday yesterday which is in my room. I'm not the most technologically sound person (outside computers), so I want to know if it would be worth getting a Blu-ray player cos my tv doesn't support 1080p, and the main family tv in the living room isn't even flatscreen or HD!
Is there much difference between 1080p and 720p? I use my Xbox to watch dvd's in my room, and even though I've got the console set up for 720p, it only plays in 476p. I hadn't noticed this before cos my previous tv was small in comparison to my new one, but the dvd playback on my Xbox is quite grainy (probably due to the 476p). Is there a way to upscale to anything higher?
