He has improved by the way, not by as much as the other semi- finalists but he has worked and he has improved. He clearly hasn't conquered most of the dances he has tackled including the rumba and in general his latin is poor but he couldn't have performed that tango in week one and his ballroom is slowly but steadily getting better.”

First of all, it's easy to say Chris doesn't deserve to win because he hasn't improved more than Ricky - but then I haven't seen many of Chris' supporters state that's the reason they're supporting him. From a personal point of view, it's not the technical aspect of who's the better dancer, or who's improved the most, but who lights up the dance floor every time they dance, and for me that is Chris and Ola (although Ricky and Natalie did a superb Argentine Tango which admittedly has led me to waver somewhat in terms of support - we'll have to see what happens Saturday)
Anyway: the improvement argument.
Ricky

11: 31
*12: 39 and 37
*13: 38 and 39
Weeks 1-7 average: 34.1
Weeks 8-12 average (removing Darcey's score for parity): 36.3
Improvement: 2.2
Chris

*12: 33 and 31
*13: 31 and 33
Weeks 1-7 average: 26.1
Weeks 8-13 average (*removing Darcey's scores for parity): 31.9
Improvement: 5.8
So using the scores put forward by the judges, Chris has improved more than Ricky. So if the argument is 'No improvement from Chris' - goodness knows what can be said about Ricky.
