Muse - Radiohead ripoffs (they sound nothing alike), pretentious (laziest criticism ever, god forbid a band wants to be ambitious), over-the-top (that's their trademark). The last point also applies to Queen, which gets my goat as well. What's also ironic about the pretentious part is that this is usually tossed around in a review by some critic who writes in a really pompous, overuse-of-the-thesaurus kind of language to the point that it's unreadable.
Every heavy metal band ever - "It's all screaming and noise!" I sympathise with hip-hop fans who are told that their music is just "guns, cars and bitches", because this is pretty much the same case for metal. Just a bunch of idiots with their heads up their arse. Also: "All songs sound the same!" despite the fact Metal is arguably the broadest musical genre.
I'd like someone to explain to me how

sounds the same as

The Beatles/Led Zeppelin - "they're overrated". Again, just a lazy criticism from someone who has either never listened to them both, doesn't understand their impact or is just trying to be 'cool'.
Pink Floyd and Radiohead seem to get hit with the "boring" stick a lot. Fair enough they're bands that are hard to get into, but you have to appreciate that their music is carefully and excellently crafted.
