Hi
I have just bought the foxsat hdr, I would like to be able to access C4 hd. I bought the diablo lite 2.3 with underworld1.87 loaded on it, I have a valid sky card, the blue and white one. I plugged everything in but with no joy. I don't know what settings i should be using, can any one please here advise.

Cheers,
Bob

Hi Bob,

You need to go into non-FreeSat mode and do a manual scan. I have Channel 4 HD running on mine using exactly the same but it will only work in non-FreeSat mode. (beware of losing your schedule listings dependant on the firmware version of your box) You can't "add" a custom channel to the list when in FreeSat mode... (you can't really "add" as such in non-FreeSat mode either. A scan will bring it up)

FWIW, the settings for CH 4 HD are:

11798 H 29500 3/4

Cheers Colin for the response, but i'm having no luck I just get the channel scrambled message, for all of the FTV channels. I don't know if the settings are right on the cam or if the cam is reading the card.
Can you please advise on the correct Cam settings, I will also try and get another card to try to see if the cam is reading the card.
The card works fine in the sky box no problem.

Before you go looking for another card, give me 30mins or so to try out Underworld187 because I am now using Horizon104 on my card which I changed to quite a while back because I think I started having problems with Underworld (the last version I used of that was 1.84)

I just tried UW187 and as I suspected, I stopped using it because of heavy sporadic pixcelisation during viewing and v1.87 is no exception.

Get hold of Horizon104 (v1.04) and use that instead. It doesn't have the overhead of all the emulators and since you are, like me, just using a bona-fide Sky card anyway, that isn't really a problem.

Having reverted my CAM back to H1.04, I am watching CH4HD now. You still may see the odd brief picture breakup/pixcelisation but that seems to be normal for these CAMs since the CPU is quite slow... I still get the odd CAM crash too put a quick pull/re-insert cures that.

Main Settings under Configuration:
Lang [ENGLISH]
Caids File [UK]
Auto PMT [OFF]
SmartCard Mess. [Show 3 Seconds]
Administrator Menu

Under CAS, all should be [OFF] except Nagravision which should be [ON]

DS user snappysnaps has reported that the new Diablo CAM 2 (yes, different to 2.3), about £105 deliv to UK works with the new white Sky cards so people should be able to get the encrypted channels (Channel 4 HD, Fiver , Five USA and +1s) using one of these on their Humax HDRs and Panasonic Freesat TVs.

Indeed and I have also had that confirmed by Simon at Sat Europa too although he did say that Premium Movies and Sport Channels do NOT work with the Diablo 2 yet. (everything else works fine)

Hi

I'm interested in adding those channels to to my foxsathdr.

Do I just need the cam and a programmer?

For my new FSFS card to work do I need anymore special sw? Will it activate without having the constant need to put it back in a sky box?

Does the cam need to be programmed often?

You can't "add" them (to the existing EPG), you have to use non-Freesat mode instead (which invokes other issues...)

Apart from the software for the CAM, no.

You'll always need to put it back in the Sky Box periodically for re-activation. (BIMBW)

Not really, although you may see periodic updates for new features etc...

"but I may be wrong" I say that because I am still keeping an older (blue) card going and the requirements for the new white card (which I also have) may be different...

I've found it to be roughly every 3 months...

I there may be someone on ebay/elsewhere who offers to program CAMs for a small fee (saving you buying a programmer yourself)?

Sorry to be painful... Can I get ch 4 HD on my Foxsat box by doing a manual scan or do I need another card?

Its encrypted so you need a valid Sky card and a CAM plus you have to use non freesat mode.

I understand there are software emulators that can be put onto the cams that allow reception without Sky cards but as its not legal it cannot be talked of here.
