Truely groundbreaking tracks

Having browsed around this forum for a while and seen there's some people who know their stuff, I was wondering what you think are the true groundbreaking tracks.

They don't have to be great tracks. Just ones that had influence and started a movement.

I'd offer:

The Revolution will not be Televised - Gil Scott Heron - the prototype for rap.

Trans-Euro Express - Kraftwerk - the birth of Electronica

Charlie - The Prodigy - dragged rave into the mainstream.

I realise some of these tracks may have leant on even more obscure tracks.

Tomorrow Never Knows by the Beatles has to easily be one of the most influential songs of all time.

Pre recorded samples, looping and the repeating drum and bass sound, and the fusion of several different musical styles - and all this in 1966!

Without it, I doubt that Dance, Electro and all their associated sub genres would be as they are today.

Amazing to think that this was only 3 years after "She Loves You"

bob - I really should have said that one - it's a no-brainer really. It sounds so much like a Chemical Brothers track, before the Chemical Mothers and Fathers had met each other.

Phaedra by Tangerine Dream (Dec. 1973) was recorded years before Trans Europe Express by Kraftwerk. I think it is more deserving starting point for commercial Electronica.

TEE is a great track mind you.

tangsman - that's exactly what I want from this thread - someone putting a different opinion so we can all learn.

For example I known Pierre Henry's "Psyche Rock" - pre-dates Kraftwerk and Futurama, but I don't think it had that much influence.
