Er, lets stick to what was actually said in the video, shall we. The dreadful bit was placed in quotes by The Sun. They could have just made them quotes up for all we know. He came across pretty okay in that video. I also think he was tricked/encouraged to throw darts at that image - which is why the camera very coincidentally closes in on the image.

There's a difference between being annoyed and entirely dismissing the song (and band) just because they don't fit the X-Factor chart-friendly model.

Of course, one could say that people who think it's a good song or that he really deserves his success are morons.

I know, but, while it's aimed at Simon Cowell, it's gotten Joe caught in the crossfire. And there some stupid people on here who think that since he;s involved in the X Factor, they've every right to insult him, and he has no right to be annoyed... how dearly I would love to rub it in the face of some of these people if the X Factor wins.

Joe lad, you've been around 5 minutes, you're not entitled to a career just because you've worked hard singing a song that somebody else wrote for you.

RATM have put effort into things to keep a career going that's lasted about 18 years. As have many other acts who didn't have a career handed to them on a plate from a TV show.

It's as simple as this, you're not entitled to a number one record.
It's not part of your contract that you are automatically provided with a number one record just because you've won a TV competition.

Many acts never get a number one record yet still manage to sustain a career in music for many years. So it's a bit pathetic to start moaning just because you might not get to number one because you believe that it's the be all and end all and your birthright.

I think that people are entitled to offer their opinion on Joe seeing as he's putting his own comments out there now.
If he comes across as a precious little stage school kid whining because somebody else might get to number one instead of him, then I think it's quite natural to expect a bit of fallout from that.
Maybe he should have kept shtum.

I remember talk of how it was fixed to get no higher than no.2 for the jubilee at the time, although nowadays it doesn't matter if shops don't stock it o radio doesn't play it.
