Not second year running - last year the best dancer won - Tom.

lol

This year

Lucie got booted of X factor despite singing better than the twins

Chris gets the in-house treatment like Tom last year

...... And even in the world of The Restaurant Two "personalities" get though the final with out cooking a single dish (ohh except a scotch egg and sandwich)

So I Propose for next year

"Most popular person on TV" Would make life so much simpler, just the least popular person from each week gets eliminated! Winner gets a nice Christmas! Woohoo 20Mil watch it!

And to think it would end the criticism of all those pesky people who like the talent not the popularity.

I was glad at the time when Tom Chambers won last year but not in a million years do I think he was a better dancer than Rachel Stevens. And in retrospect I have long since wished that Rachel had won. And especially now, seeing history repeat itself this year and another 'entertainer' beat a far superior dancer.

I predicted earlier before the show starts that after the final people would write in to rant about BBC being unfair and that they will NEVER watch the show again.

Don't kid yourself, my friend. See you next year.

Oh rubbish.

The best dancer doesn't win most years.

That's the show. How long have you been watching?

Heh. Shame I've already nominate a Post Of The Day today, otherwise that'd be a shoe-in for mine.

The juxtaposition of irony and faux-enthusiasm? Brilliant.

He said: "I've got no idea why I wasn't asked. I'd like to know who the boss is because I'd have thought you'd want people who are entertaining.

"They asked Chris early doors - maybe they knew he was winning?"

the above statements in my opinion is exactly why Ricky didn't win this competition. Who is he to say the others are NOT entertaining, i actually didn't find him that entertaining erghhhh this has really made me cross

ps: thanks for the link

I thought he wasn't doing it through choice not that he hadn't been asked - odd

That really doesn't sound like Ricky to me.

I don't watch Hollyoaks, so maybe I am completely wrong here, but surely he is contracted to that. Would they allow him the time off to tour, did I not read he has a big storyline in the show right now? And I must agree with mia in that it doesn't sound like Ricky, maybe what was actually said was twisted a bit?

IF, that's how he said what he said, then it does sound a bit tetchy. On the other hand, I'd have though he'd have been great on the tour (not that I'd ever watch such a thing) because so many people loved his moves.

That sounds like a bad loser to me - if indeed he did say those things!

But in answer to one of the comments though - no I don't find the sight of someone spinning his partner above his head entertaining in any way shape or form. That sort of thing belongs in a circus - not on a dancefloor. Chris & Ola's showdance was far far more entertaining to watch!

I'm thinking so. I've sent him a message, so hopefully he can clear it up.

This 'story' rather overlooks the FACT that Ricky is going to Hollywood and from the timing of that I would assume it would clash with the tour ...

The other thing that doesn't scan about this is the very obvious good humour and cameraderie between Ricky and Chris on Saturday.

Sounds to me like The Sun have jumped on a chance to rubbish the BBC. Quel surprise ...

I really enjoyed the final on Saturday, I thought it was a great show with some really entertaining dances from both couples.

Congratulations to Chris and Ola and commiserations to Ricky and Natalie. I thought both sides showed great sportsmanship, and Ricky and Natalie's graciousness in the way they congratulated the winners did them credit and was lovely to see.

To anyone involved in the prodcution who might be reading this, thanks for all your hard work, you made a great show! Don't let all the bitching and carping on here detract from the fact that you gave a lot of pleasure to millions of viewers every week. Thank you.

he's not due to leave Hollyoaks for a few months yet and he said in his blog that he was gutted not to be doing the tour I must admit I thought it was because he couldn't do it not because he hadn't been asked - I might have bought tickets for the tour if Ricky had been dancing
