I think you will find that Shelter are very happy with everyone that voted for Rage as they received £20k from it so far. I also think that the Youth music charity Rage are donating their royalties to will appreciate it. And finally I think the music fans that Rage said they would do a free gig for if they made it to No 1 will love it too.

I think those are all more worthwhile causes than Joe MCelderry and Simon Cowell.

a) The vast, vast majority of people taking part have nothing against Joe himself.

b) He isn't entitled to a Christmas no.1
Of course he's not entitled, but in the normal course of things he would have been No.1

If there were 800000+ Facebook members and over half a million single sales, where exactly are they going to play this free gig?

He's been denied by the superior sales of another song, which is about as normal as it can get regardless of how either song was promoted or campaigned.

I imagine free tickets will be allocated and it will be a first come first serve affair. i also don't reckon all those people will want a free ticket either - a huge part of this campaign was about sending Simon a message, not about what band won.

Hope you're all pleased with yourselves. What was the point in denying this young lad a Christmas No.1?
But he was trying to deny every other "young lad" in the charts a #1 as well! The heartless fiend got what he deserved.

At least it has a decent melody and doesn't keep repeating the name lyrics ad nauseum unlike a certain other song.

You still don't get it,it was never about Joe,the campaign would have gone ahead regardless of who the X-Factor winner was.

Guys we aren't victorious yet, lets wait till 7:55pm when "F*** You, I won't do what you tell me" is playing loud on BBC Radio 1.

I'm keeping my feet on the ground, it seems to good to be true lol, I want official confirmation.

OK, so I admit it's not the greatest song, cliched etc but it's pot kettle and black to say that The Climb has not tune and is bloody awful, when RATM is just that. Crap first time, crap now. Crap band.

Joe won a recording contract, not the right to automatically dominate the chart for a few weeks.

Actually, it has been very intelligently driven.... a conscious, united effort for the first time to stop this X-Factor cancer infecting the UK music industry year after year.

The band are called "Rage Against the Machine"... dur! Obvious

The lyrics are saying "f**k you I won't do what you tell me"

It's appropriate, dancable rock and if it wins tonight I will be over the moon.

1 or 2,it doesn't matter.

I just like seeing one of my favourite early 90's bands get some attention for a change. How about Faith No More's Small Victory as the anti-X Factor single next year?

Another understated and influential act.
