.... i.e. the BBC's new golden boy?

When Natasha won Stictly back in 2004 she was promoted adn her career rocketed? Will the same happen to Chris? will he be one the main BBC Breakfast presenters (he's presented alongside Susanna Reid as one the main presenters). If I were one of the male presenters of BBC Breakfast I'd be worried that I might lose my job. The BBC should get rid of Charlie Stayt and replace him wiht Chris?

What do you all think?

I think the job offers will come pouring in.

Personalities like Chris' are rare. He's naturally engaging and funny and full of charm.

I'd defintely like to see him doing more stuff on the box

i'm sure our screens are going to be saturated with him.

looking forward to mondays breakfast and the banter between him, bill n sian - that is if he bothers turning up for work now that he's a scd champion.

Oh god please no, I love BBC breakfast and I can take Chris in small doses doing the sport but please don't tell me he'll be one of the main presenters now

Personally I hope the BBC casting directors make a note of Ricky`s number.....When his times up on Hollyoaks I`am sure it would be appreciated if they gave him a call....They managed to find a job for Tom Chambers.

As I mentioend before he has sat in as a main presenter alongside Susanna Reid at weekends when Charlie was away (this was before he apperad on Strictly) so I wouldn't be surprised if he became one of the main presenters on a permanent basis now that he's so well-known and popular. The BBC would be made not to promote him.

Watch out Adrian Chiles, Charlie Stayt and Bill Turnbull cos you might not have a job soon!!!

I think they should make him Director General of the BBC and then make him a Sir followed by Prime Minister.

Chris is nice. I never watch breakfast tv so had never even heard of him before SCD. We'll have to wait and see what comes up for him.

I love Chris, but my admiration for him would totally know no bounds if he just stuck to BBC Breakfast which is what I love him doing. I hope all the fuss doesn't change him. Seeing the lovely grounded family he comes from I don't think it will.

I don't think it was simply a matter of winning SCD that made the difference to Natasha's career, although it may well have accelerated it. It was the taking part. She always seemed like she was trying to hide in the sofa before SCD but over a couple of months she seemed to become more confident in herself and much more outgoing. She was a much better presenter after taking part in SCD.

I think he's doing a bit extra stuff recently anyway - Cash in the Attic? Car Booty? I'm sure I saw him on one of those recently.

To me it seems that Ms Kaplinsky has been slid quietly into a 5pm on C5 graveslot for news, so although she may have had a little blossom - do you remember when she was still presenting Breakfast and they had to fold over the newspapers to show other headlines that didn't include her alleged affair? lolz!! - it doesn't seem to have lasted.

I hope Chris has good Management/sense and doesn't leap at everything offered and saturate us. Nice guy.

Agree with you here, he's not stupid and does seem to have his feet firmly on the ground.

I did see him on Cash in the Attic recently, so he is doing doing another presenting job anyway.
I don't think him winning SCD will affect him that much anyway.

Chris is planning to broaden his horizons according to this article even giving up BBC Breakfast to get a prime time slot.

To those looking for a Brucie replacement, Chris says he's your man:

Quote:
“Chris said: "Brucie is one of my all-time heroes and you know, Generation Game, Play Your Cards Right, all those things I grew up with.

"And if Bruce said he wanted to hang up his dancing shoes then I'd love him to pass them on to me and I'd love to host the show."”

Hm. Hadn't thought about it before but he'd be very good in the Brucie slot on SCD.

I can see him doing Question of Sport as their are rumours about the BBC wanting to replace Sue Barker.

Didn't they move her from Breakfast to the prime news slot? I seem to recall a lot of fuss at the time, wasn't she given the job over someone much more experienced and able than she was [but then my guinea pigs are more able than she is so that must be a very long list].

When I saw the title of this thread I thought it meant Chris was going to wear 4 inches of orange panstick topped with the entire contents of the Max Factor counter, and read very badly from an autocue.
