I'd like to see more of Chris on TV, and I like sport , so dont mind what role he takes up...perhaps Matchof theday2, it's more lighthearted, and would suit Chris.

He started OK but got very whiny when he didn't get high enough scores, in his opinion, argued back with the judges, had at least one QF because He Was Trying and still they had the nerve to point out what he could have done better.

Chris may just be a nicer guy anyway - or he could have, very sensibly, learned from Bill T. that smiling and sucking it up gets you farther than whining.

Chris Hollins handling of the press and media since the start of the show has been nothing short of brilliant.

He's a very clever man

and who in 7 series of Strictly has found new things to say about it.

I was not criticising his handling of the media, which I agree has been superb. It was this automatic idea of 'a possible replacement for Bruce'?

I seriously wish Bruce would go, but Hollins would die in front of a live audience within 10 seconds.

Hollins is a sports reporter - he reads what people write for him and works within time schedules laid down for him.
Give him a free live format and he would die.

You don't seriously believe Bruce isn't reading an autocue, do you? Or that he writes his own material? Of course, he ad libs from time to time but rather less than Breakfast Time journalists have to.

Of course he is reading an autocue, but I can guarantee you that if the autocue went down only one of them would survive. You really think Hollins could hold together an hours program?

As to your secondary point Hollins is not a journalist - he is a presenter. Henry Winter et al are journalists - they go out and find stories.

Hollins reads Sky News and the papers and regurgitates it.

I do remember that happening on Breakfast! You could cut the atmosphere with a knife, she ws always so adamently denying there was no affair, still to this day. Funneh.

It makes me really sad that she does such a low profile job now but I understand why she took it (financial security forever). She hardly ever shows up for work anyway now, and looks so disinterested when she does. I love her to bits but it's pretty obvious she's only interested in her family now. I guess I'd understand her decision more if I had children.

Of course he's a journalist - they don't all work for newspapers you know. Most newsreaders are, certainly for the Beeb.
