I've been studying for a post-grad in psychology and from studying evolutionary psychology I've come to agree that we often look for partners who have similarities to ourselves which we want to pass on to our offspring. Two of my exes have both been mistaken for my brother, one's mother was asked if we were twins

and, whilst I've never been attracted to anyone who closely resembles either of my parents, the "type" of guy I tend to go for is actually the same kind of colouring as myself (dark hair and big brown eyes, mediterranean looking). Hmmm, interesting (yet freaky) discussion ...
