Breaking News:
Hi! All
So I guess it is official now that both are playing the number two record, but the reign of The X Factor song has ended. The official Christmas Number One on both Radio 1's Official Chart Show and The Big Top 40 Show is - Rage Against the Machine. |

They would need to add them all together for how long Rage have been putting out songs, Real music triumphs against plastic pop tat all the time. |

I'm pleased because the whole campaign has injected a bit of fun into the Christmas chart, and for the first time in ages we genuinely didn't know who was going to be number 1 until the last minute.

I'm not personally a fan - but Tom Morello isn't talentless. One of the best guitarists of all time.

It's been at least 15 years since I've seen people listening to the charts like this. I wonder what their listening figures were like compared to normal...

It was designed as a personal message to Simon Cowell and "F*** you, I won't do what you tell me" is a wonderful message to send him.

Haven't sat through a charts countdown in ages. Reminded me of being a teenager
And then, what a wonderful surprise, just listening to Rage on the radio after so many years. I used to dance to this song like mad. Ahh brings back so many memories. I am actually getting a bit sentimental. Good for the British public, I just LOVE spontaneous, impromptu campaigns and statements like this. Bring on some more, and not just in the charts. Come on! |

While I'm as skeptical as the next man about the fact that RATM are also on Sony, I do love the song, and it's great to have a Christmas No 1 that doesn't slowly, year by year, make my soul a little bit smaller and more grumpy.
Didn't buy it, mind you- wasn't THAT bothered, and I already bought the album on vinyl and then on CD, and they ain't getting my money THREE times. |

I'm a RATM fan, but i'm not sure if i'm actually happy about this or not as i don't know which which i hate more; Facebook or X-Factor. I also get a slight feeling that they've both contributed to bastardising one of my favourite bands.
