Assuming that all the RATM purchasing hype will have ended at approximately 7:01 this evening, there is still a good chance that Joe will have the next number 1.

So it won't be all bad...he will have the first number one of "The Tenties" as the decade will inevitably become known!

Unless of course someone wants to start a campaign to get Black Lace, Bernard Cribbins or The Wurzels to number 1!!

Wouldn't the first number 1 be the week after next? Next week's number 1 would be the last of this decade (although it would be the first of the next decade, in the sense that on New Year's day it would be the number 1).

Alexandra got it good though. Three weeks! Christmas number 1, last number 1 of 2008 AND the first number 1 of 2009!!

That was until Lily Allen came along though.

I would be so pleased for Joe if he got the number one next week. He has been a good loser and taken it well, so it's not as if he doesn't deserve it

Oh, I thought The Fear was number 1 after Hallelujah for a whopping 4 weeks aswell (if I remember correctly), but come to think of it, Just Dance was released shortly after New Years, so...

Cheryl's single is out next week so that could challenge him. Obviously she has the disadvtnage of having shifted some 600,000 copies already but it's been doing well on iTunes all week. I expect it to overtake him on there

She hasn't yet, far off it, and Joe will still sell well physically.

the next chart is next Sunday, December 27th so it is the last chart of 2009. So could joe get to number one? I wouldnt be suprised if RATM dropped dramatically. Like down from 1 to 7.

Joe's gaining fast on RATM, and no one is gaining on him. He will be the last number 1 of the decade.

Just Dance knocked Hallelujah off no.1 and stayed there for 3 weeks, then after that it was The Fear for 4 weeks.
