They only need to shift another 350k. A lot of media attention and who knows.

Even though I'm a supporter of Joe, I would be more than happy to see that useless Lady Gaga knocked off. Could it?

People who bought it , didn't buy it to enjoy.

They bought it for a purpose - for one week.

Next week it'll drop by quite a margin - probably out of the top 10.

Oh so you know every single person who bought it do you? Well I for one bought it for two reasons, because I like the band and have done since the 90's, and yes, because like many others I am sick to the back teeth of plastic assembly line cr@p being mistaken for music. And rest assured, this is not a one-off, there will be more of the same next year and the year after and the year after.....BRING IT ON!!

No doubt X-Factor will pull out all the stops next year too. Eg an original catchy song

'Only' 350000? The whole point of the campaign was to buy it specifically for today's chart. I'm sure a few people will buy it this week having heard it on the news and so on, but that's it.

So you didn't already own the track then?!

A large margin of it's success was multiple buying, so it'll probably drop like a stone.

An original catchy rock tune hopefully.

No I didn't need to thanks, my son already had it. And you're missing the point anyway, even it does "drop like a stone" the same thing will happen again in the future. Get over it.

Who gets the Christmas number doesn't bother me anymore than who gets number one any other week of the year- unless a single I particularly like/care about is out I don't follow it closely. I've found this interesting and followed it, since these campaigns normally fail, so it's interesting in that respect, but I don't care about either RATM or Joe as such.

If itdoes happen again in the future, then great; every Christmas we'll have the X-Factor sheep versus the Facebook sheep in a chart battle, further ensuring that noone else will bother to release that week

OK, think that if it makes you feel better, I'm not going to get into an argument over it. I got the result I wanted so I'm happy. Night night xxxx

The songs purpose has been fulfilled, so I am thoroughly expecting a massive drop in the charts very soon. The campaign was to stop it getting xmas #1, not to be #1 for weeks to come.

Yeah so useless, can sing, dance, write her own music and play musical instruments.

She is exactly what the music industry should be steering away from isn't she?!

Gosh, as if we need those these days! You don't even need a good voice, just get a computer to do it all for you! Lady GaGa is a breath of fresh air to the music industry but you cant please everyone can you?

Well its better a 2 horse race, than a 1 horse one, and that was THE ENTIRE POINT OF THIS THING

If you look at the entire top 10, apart from Joe and Rage, there is only one other brand new entry in the Top 10...

Some people really beggar belief.

I think one of two things will happen. Either the song will drop like a stone next week. Or the RATM campaigners will regroup and realise that:
a) If people stop buying the track theres a good chance of Joe being number 1 next week
b) Theres the chance to make RATM the biggest selling single of the year

Hopefully the latter will happen, and the campaign will carry on into the next week. If that happens then they've got a chance of being the biggest seller of the year. Plus theres been a massive amount of publicity for RATM today, so I'm sure they'll be a lot of first time buyers of the track in the next few days. I never imagined the song would sell anywhere near 500k, so I guess anything's possible.

You dislike the best pop act to appear in decades (GaGa), a revolutionary genre-defining rock band (RATM), and instead prefer... Joe? The mind boggles.

It's unlikely. There are no physicals.

Journey was almost chosen as the song for the winner, and he invited Bon Jovi on his show. He may not like a lot of rock music, but that doesn't mean anything with a guitar.

Hahaha decades??? I nearly spilt my corn flakes on that one. She's not even the outright stand out musician of the YEAR LOL. She's had two strong songs sales wise, probably ending at 1 and 3. IGF will overtake PF in due course.

Black Eyed Peas have as many number ones, equally a good selling album, and possibly heading for 3 songs in the top 10 best selling of the year in the UK! Gaga MAY have 3 in the top 20, paparazzi barely creeping in at 19/20.

Lady Gaga wouldn't have sold over 1 million albums here had it not been for rebuffed second album (which really should counted seperately). Subo crushed her what she had built up over a year in a matter of weeks? Isn't she bigger?

Oh no but Lady Gaga is bigger than MJ/Freddie Mercury/Elvis combined now isn't she?

She's had a GOOD year. But others e.g. Black Eyed Peas have equally been as good IGF got 6 months at number in America didn't it?

I'm not dissing her completely, she's been good, but the best thing to happen in decades. Well thats your opinion but the stats don't back that up.

a revolutionary genre-defining rock band (RATM).
Yeah Sure. Some guy from facebook just uses their name for effect against Cowell, few of heard of them, now they're getting compared to the Beatles.

Some hilarious comments there. Good stuff.
