Black Eyed Peas have as many number ones, equally a good selling album, and possibly heading for 3 songs in the top 10 best selling of the year in the UK! Gaga MAY have 3 in the top 20, paparazzi barely creeping in at 19/20.

Lady Gaga wouldn't have sold over 1 million albums here had it not been for rebuffed second album (which really should counted seperately). Subo crushed her what she had built up over a year in a matter of weeks? Isn't she bigger?

Oh no but Lady Gaga is bigger than MJ/Freddie Mercury/Elvis combined now isn't she?

She's had a GOOD year. But others e.g. Black Eyed Peas have equally been as good IGF got 6 months at number in America didn't it?

I'm not dissing her completely, she's been good, but the best thing to happen in decades. Well thats your opinion but the stats don't back that up.

Yeah Sure. Some guy from facebook just uses their name for effect against Cowell, few of heard of them, now they're getting compared to the Beatles.

Some hilarious comments there. Good stuff.”

yes hater, sneer and throw stats at us to prove your point why don't you. i guess that means bands like Muse are bad because they don't sell anything like Gaga and BEP.

I don't actually hate her, she will have the number single of the year anyway, happy? She's not as big as madonna or MJ (she could be of course!) But 5 million sales worldwide (usually 2 different promoted albums). Madonna's true blue has sold over 20 million.

Like I say I don't hate her, but I read comments that she is going to be bigger than MJ/The Beatles etc it does irk me a little. If you like her than that's fine. She's done very well this year. Songs 1 and 3 in the best selling songs of the year is very impressive. But's she's not the only one!

BEP may have a good year but their album was full of boring songs with 1 or 2 good ones, there isn't a bad track on the GaGa album

But that's an opinion isn't it. But then again music is full opinions.

Completely fresh and original to the world of pop in a way we haven't had since the 80s. #1s all over the globe, and the most listened to musician online in 2009.

Few had heard of them? Well, revel in your ignorance if you want, but they've won 2 Grammy Awards, are multi-platinum selling artists, headlined several of the biggest rock and metal festivals in this country last year, and Tom Morello keeps popping high up on greatest guitarist ever lists for his innovative guitar techniques.

Stop and listen to the solo in Killing in the Name - noticed how he's playing notes that are a few octaves too high for a normal guitar? Weird that, isn't it? He can make his guitar sound like a car revving up, a DJ scratching records, makes it sound like an electric harmonica or bagpipes and many other weird things.

The genre they've defined is rap-rock, which went on to be further popularised by bands like Linkin Park. And let's not even get into the fact 3 of the 4 were big successes as part of the supergroup Audioslave with Chris Cornell.

Meanwhile, you're a... "Joe supporter".

True Blue was released over 20 years ago, we are in much different times now. Example: Britney's Baby One More Time album sold 25 million worldwide when it was released 10 years ago. If she released it now do you honestly think she would of sold anywhere near that amount? In these days of file-sharing, downloading, and people choosing to download individual songs rather than albums (especially with pop music), 5 million album sales worldwide is a respectable amount, especially for a commercial pop act like Gaga.
