Ray Davies.... wot a guy.... for his songwriting Id put him up there
with Lennon and McCartney and as a lyricist... maybe hes No 1 ?
It was nt that long after the Beatles hit the big time that
Ray and the Kinks appeared on the scene.
Just listening to his LP .... Preservation Act 2.... from 1974.... its almost
like a musical waiting to be put on stage .
heres one song from the LP

People always said that Paul Mac should write a musical and put it on
the West End... but he never did
wonder if Ray ever had a go ?
Andrew Lloyd Webber used to get some great songs together and put them
on an LP... but that was only stage one in his strategy... the real big time
and big money kicked in when he put the musical together and up in the
West End.
Hes still earning from those songs and musicals today.
The good news is that Ray is still going strong, still doing concert tours
he must get an awesome reception from his army of fans.... wot a guy !
