Wasn't the RATM campaign all about knocking pop/celebrity culture

That's the opinion I've got.
Pop / celebrity is all about mass exposure & quite often or even generally mean that that they don't have any depth of interest to most of us.Big brother has seemed to exemplify this recent media bias, although it has always been part of mass media since it's inception (generally since the 1930's).

I know RATM doesn't necessarily back up this arguement that well - but some will disagree.RATM has generally had at least some sort of meaning to their outputs i.e. anti-right wing / capitalism / war etc, and they did have a unnique sound when they first appeared in the early 1990's.Alot of popular figures don't seem to have any valid genuine feelings / expression about their outputs & when they are interviewed - in case they alienate a section of their fans.They keep their private thoughts to themselves if you get what I mean.
