Warlock (Doro Pesch)
The Runaways The Go-Go's Zed Yago and these might not class as bands although they all front bands rather than sing solo - Suzie Quattro, Allanah Myles and Pat Benatar and more folk than rock - Steeleye Span and Blackmore's Night (the later featuring quite a few Rainbow tracks as it includes Ritchie Blackmore of Deep Purple/Rainbow). |

Garbage
Hole Veruca Salt Lush Breeders L7 Mine are old now. We are really missing some great rock with female vocals now. Paramore doesn't do a lot for me. I'm a big Goldfrapp fan, but I don't consider them a rock band, more electro/dance. |

Skunk Anansie are undoubtedly the best band fronted by a woman. They're by far my favourites and by a long shot.
Bands like Goldfrapp and CSS, although I love them too, are hardly Skuzz material

The Reasoning and Breathing Space are great bands. Livvy has a great voice. I haven't heard Unexpect though.
It is remarkable just how many of the up-and-coming prog bands have female vocalists now though! |

Good list of bands here but no-one has mentioned Inkubus Sukkubus! Fonted by the brilliant Candia Ridley, more Pagan Rock but still rock
