I thought graig was at first but my opinion of him has totally changed since i watched back to reality so my fave winner has to be Brian he was entertaining funny and you dont see him seling his life story on every edition of heat.

Yep Brian was a good winner but i think Kate deserved to win 100%

She was funny, stood up to Jade, gave up her place on the rich side to try and help the others, and kept me entertained all the way through along side Jonny

I thought all the BB winners were poor to be honest and plain, bordering on ugly. The true winner of BB3 - love him or hate him the one who kept people glued to the screen - was a genuine beauty, outspoken and brave as well as kind and witty. Unfortunately they blew it with dodgy editing.

Alex, you're wonderful.

I've liked all the winners except bloody Cameron. I couldn't believe how depressed I was when he won. My favourite has to be Brian, he had me smiling for the whole nine weeks he was in the BB house. I hope BB5 is similar to BB2 in the range of characters they put in there.

And darling, I watched the whole of BB3 on E4, even taping overnight so I could watch it when they slept during the day, and I thought Alex's editing did him more favours than anyone else. I certainly did not watch for him, I thought he was too far up his own ar*e

Before I comment on your post, I have one question.

Don't suppose you've still got the tapes have you?

No I am not THAT sad, but I do have a very good memory . You have your opinion about 4 particular housemates, I have mine about one  . I am not getting into discussions about the whys and wherefores of Alex Sibley, if we all liked the same person there would be no point watching BB would there?? I would prefer to have discussions regarding future housemates rather the runners up from previous series

Seems a bit odd that you're on this thread then if you're interest is only in future housemates!

And I wasn't planning to discuss Alex with you. Think what you like, I'm not honestly bothered.

I agree with you darling, I don't think any of the winners were up to much. I preferred Alex, of course, and Anna, Helen... One of the reasons I found #4 to be unwatchable towards the end was that the only contestant I quite liked (Fed) left so early...

I suppose if I have to pick a winner I liked... Mark Owen?!

You're right. I'd forgotten about him but he seemed a really nice guy. I like Jack Dee as well.

I didnt watch BB1 and only some of BB2, but I was ok with Brian winning..I liked him and Helen equally.

I liked Jack Dee and Mark Owen too.

But it was, and still is, a complete mystery to me why or how Kate or Cameron could win

I didn't even vote in the finale of BB4, I thought the final 4, in fact all twelve, were totally undeserving.

This year has to be better. Doesn't it...

I voted a couple of times for Jon. But I watched it less and less as the series went on. I thought it was hopeless.

I'm not sure how much (if any) I'll watch this year.

The only time i voted more than once was to get Lisa back in straight after she'd been evicted, and it didn't work.. she did come 2nd though.

Brian is my fave BB winner too...
He was entertaining 'n' all and that was great, but the downside I think from the show's pointof view was, it was obvious from early on he was going to win no contest...
the BB2 finale was a bit of an anticlimax in my opinion. As it was really the Brian coronation...

whereas one thing about BB3 I liked was the excitement of there wasn't a clear favourite right to the end, any of the finalists could'a won...
a good range of personalities and an entertaining emsemble mix is what I want for BB5, too, though I wouldn't like a one horse race

and on Alex I agree, regards favoruable editing he had a fair crack of the whip...

like especially the week against Spencer the editing was blatantly on his side

I watched BB3 without being on the internet and at times, was furious at the negative editing Alex recieved.

At the time I really believed I was the only person who had noticed it.....I don't know if I was relieved or even more angry when I later found that others had seen it too.

I think this year BB5 will benefit if Endomol don't try and influence our opinions of the contestants in the first few weeks, but let their true characters develop naturally.

A prime example is Tim...I wonder what everyone would have thought about him if it weren't for "ginger watch" on BBLB?

Craig I thought was deathly dull apart from the cheating moment which was about as exciting as a spilt drink in a pub.

Cameron was who wins if the really annoying people get voted out and no one else is left.

Brian was great. His early morning Brian as a nun - never shown on the edited show was sublime. BB2 was as predictable though as if they had let Jack Dee into the normal show. Brian was also an odd winner in that he was detached from the show - Dean and Elizabeth did everything for him from his cooking to much of his thinking.

BB3 had 4 potential winners plus Jade. It had the poor side, warring factions, strategy, competitive people, romance and the dangers provided by Jade and Jonny with a bottle. Its winner had to negotiate all that and won because she came through looking as if she was enjoying herself. Kate was also funny - her Kate as Lynn and Kate as Alex impressions were as good as Brian the nun - but also were lost on streaming.

I can't see any case for Alex being edited out. Alex stayed on because of a very dubious vote against Allison and because he was spun as an annoying but funny character against Spencer who was spun as annoying and boorish. After that Alex shot himself in the head. His treatment of Kate was picked up by the psychologists who related it to an inflated sense of self worth, a feeling of being jilted and spite. He then spent the last 3 weeks complaining he didn't want to be on the show, he criticised others for playing to the camera and then stood behind a door miming to the camera for his best moment and he kept on saying he only liked Adele and Tim - the two most disliked characters in UK BB history. Alex was interesting because he seemed only to be there because his domineering parents had told him to be there and he seemed to have difficulty even deciding what his sexual preferences were on the required form without being told. You don't win for not wanting to be there though or, as Sunita put it, for being "great until he opens his mouth". That gets you third place a bit ahead of Jade and behind Jonny the panto fireman and Kate the (clear) winner of the most difficult and competitive BB.

Tim as the public school graduate was onto a loser anyway. However he managed to deserve the public response he got. First we had the stories about winning solo song writing or singing competitions that turned out to be dubious according to BBLB. Then there were his boasts about his business interests - which also attracted news coverage. Then we had the total vanity of the mirrors, hair and shaving. Then we had the newspaper reports of bets to bed Kate and his childish reasons for nominating her when she rejected him - most notably when she preferred the carrot cake to him on their evening date. Then there was his boorish behaviour and efforts to persuade Alex to be as boring. Then there was his inability to follow the rules or participate in the task which hurt the other housemates . Then we had the smug sense of superiority which contrasted so markedly with the fact that the house games revealed Tim was actually less informed than anyone in the last half dozen with the obvious exception of Jade. Frankly looking at Tim, with his degree from a university known as a public schoolboys watering hole, heading into a top job (when he appeared clearly less able than PJ who was far brighter or Kate (who didn't want the debt of university) or Jonny who left education for work early , showed a side of the country that many hoped no longer existed. Being seen as dim, rich, pompous, boring , deceitful, vane, smug and sexist was hardly likely to make him popular.

2 excellent posts thenetworkbabe.

Kate Lawler, was without doubt the most deserving winner of BB3.

Mark Owen and Jack Dee.

And athough he wasn't my favourite housemate, I though Brian deserved to win and was glad when he did.

Brian was the only BB winner who deserved to win. The other three won by default.
