The good news-There are fears Hearsays popularity may be subsiding cos they have hundreds of unsold concert tickets for some major tour.So are we finally rid of them?
Bad News-ITV has a news popstars like show called Pop Idol coming soon that is more or less about finding more Hearsays.Itds all a vicious circle isnt it

I dont like the music of Hearsay but its no worse than loads of these sort of boy/girl bands where they all sing and dance (prefer a more traditional type of group with a drummer and guitarists etc myself), but the individual members can sing - my main gripe against Hearsay is not that they are a "manufactured" group - after all isn't every band manufactured to some extent? But that they won't be getting much at all for all their record sales - wasn't it in the contract that they signed up to start with when they went on Popstars that ITV or whoever was doing the project took the vast majority of the profits paying a salary to the members of the group - I'd be very interested in knowing what this groups sales total and just how much they've gotten paid themselves. Having said that I doubt that had they managed to get together themselves they wouldn't have sold anywhere near the amount without all the hype and coverage n ITV - struck me the other week when I saw that ITV had a Hear Say fronted programme on at peak Saturday tea time that they realised the bubble would burst within a few months and they were determined to milk them for all they could.

The fact that their single Pure and Simple has spent 6 months in the chart suggests to me that it was only teenyboppers who ran out and bought the song in the first few weeks, and that some people bought the song 'cause they liked it.
And as for their concerts not selling out, they did sell out VERY VERY quickly, so they added more dates, and obviously added too many. I doubt Hear'say will be around for more than 2 or 3 years, but I don't think their popularity is dying out yet.
