N-Dubz to present TOTP?
Apparently they want to present a relaunched version of TOTP.
Thoughts? |

I think Dappy has confused the fact he's easy target for ridicule and thus gets on Buzzcocks with actually being popular and liked.

N-Dubz presenting TOTP?.
Someone's having a laugh. Well I wouldn't mind Tulisa presenting it but the other two can forget it. If that dippy Dappy and the other bloke was presenting it all you'd get is 'Yeah man, alright innit, you know what I'm saying. What we need is decent presenters like we had in the days of David Jensen, John Peel, Mike Read. People who have got a bit of personality and don't sound like they've got half a brain cell between them as soon as they open their mouths. |

There is far too much talk about N-Chavz than there should be.

they aren't chavs. Tulisa just looks like the "fittest" bird on their council estate brought into to Mime their chorus' The other guy could be swapped every week and I wouldn't even notice. |

I fail to see how exactly Dappy or Brian Harvey are "acting."

The amount of "yoofs" I hear who speak like Dappy suddenly remember how to speak properly when they have to. I'll clarify by saying Dappy has stolen Brian Harvey's out od date "style" then if that's better? |

So if Dappy or Dean wasn't in NDubz and had to go for an Job interview do you think he'd speak and act like he does?

I get annoyed when they're criticised for not being "real" They come from an Eastend council estate and sing about things they know. Perhaps only if you come from a simular background can you really apprieciate the sentiments in their music. Also their are kids everywhere especially from London who speak and "act" the same. It's a way of life for alot of youngsters and as long as they're not hurting anyone else i can't really see what the problem is tbh

...The most worrying thing I feel about the success of groups like N-Chavz in Britain is that it perpetuates the mindset amongst minors or ''yoof'' as (N-Chavz like to say) that it's uncool to enunciate and better to ''talk like dis!!''.
I can only imagine how teaching Shakespeare must be like today in state schools .. ''I don' wanna learn dat stuff..it sounds gay blud!'' |

British Council Estates are in no way anything like the Ghettos in the US and to compare the two is insulting to the people who inhabit them. Someone who lives in an American ghetto would cut his arm off to live on a Council Estate. What I'm saying is that although there are some Rappers who genuinely had a hard life (lived in the ghetto. family murdered, shot, drug dealing past etc) there are far too many that sing about how hard there life has been when it hasn't. For some reason, playing a victim is attractive especially if you can shout about how you overcame it. Hip Hop basically was the evolution of Blues and was originally about struggling and making social statements but now it's lost that and is just about bragging. With US artists who have genuinely had a sh*t life you can forgive it, but growing up in England just isn't that harsh. |

I am a huge fan of American hip hop and many of it's stars who as you say have truly come from the ghettos and rap about those experiences, 2 of my favourites being Eminem and 50 cent who are both from such backgrounds. Have you actually listened though to the lyrics of N-Dubz music? They are not talking about the things you mentioned but as i said before the hardships of growing up poor on a tough council estate.Maybe i forgot to say before but i was brought up the same way and still live in a council estate, so as i said before i identify with their lyrics as someone who has grown up in a simular world to them. If you've never known such a back ground, well i'm sorry you really then have no idea.Believe me it's a different world altogether. |
