I am in the market for a surround sound system and have been looking around since I got my lovely Sony Bravia 40" TV, PS3 and Sky+HD around 12 months ago.

I wanted a 5.1ch surround sound with wireless rears (due to room layout) at the time but couldn't find one that would do the job properly, the main problem being that Sky+HD only outputs the Dolby Digital via the Optical out and most all in one units didn't allow you to select the optical audio over that of the HDMI audio.

Now I am looking for some help becuase I think I have found the answer. I have been looking at the Panasonic BT200 as you can get wireless rear kit for it and I know that the Sony will talk to it in a limited way (like mute TV when it is on). The problem here is it has audio inputs which is great but means lots of remotes still possibly.

I have come across the Sony HT-SS100, HT-SS360 and HT-SF360 which all all essentiall the same unit except the 1st doesn't allow wireless rears (but operates the same so worth asking for user experiences) and the last has floor standing speakers.

From my understanding I can connect my PS3 via HDMI and with correct settings on PS3 get great audio and play BlueRay. I can connect Sky+HD via both HMDI and Optical and change a setting in the Amp to use optical input as main audio. Then I can connect my TV to Amp via HDMI, find it via Bravia Sync HDMI control and be happy.

Finally I should be able to connect my TV to the amp via optical as well so I can get surround sound on any Freeview viewing or when playing Wii (which is connected via Component).

Questions I have for people are - is it going to be this easy? Does having two Sony products so Bravia Sync really work so i could potentially ditch the TV remote?

Lots of people love these units but wonder if many end up with a sofa arm full of remotes to enjoy TV?

All help and input appreciated.

Thanks
