Why not, if you can't beat Rihanna and Beyonce join! Take Beyonce who has released 8 singles from her current album!!!!!!

DS Article: (can't do links)
Sugababes have revealed that they intend to release as many as six singles from their upcoming album Sweet 7.

The trio have already released 'Get Sexy' and 'About A Girl' from the record and third single 'Wear My Kiss' is expected in early February.

"We also want to release our collaboration with Sean Kingston 'Miss Everything'. I think it has a really good summery feel to it," singer Heidi Range told Digital Spy.

"We hope to release a lot more singles from this album, like five or six, so that will take us all the way to the end of next year."

Amelle Berrabah added: "'Thank You For The Heartbreak' is definitely a song that we love. We also want 'Little Miss Everything', which was written for us by Ne-Yo."

Sugababes have topped the singles chart on five previous occasions, including their Girls Aloud collaboration 'Walk This Way' for Comic Relief in 2007.

The group released download-only single 'Santa Baby' on December 21.

Taz Queen Bee hasn't released 8 here!

Just the US where certain songs were only sent to certain kinds of radio...which really isnt much of a full release for around 3 of those tracks (hence the lack of high downloads for those tracks)

There's a difference though; RiRi & Bey (although she's flopping with Videophone) CAN pull it off. Bands can't. Case in point; The Saturdays with the Chasing Lights album.

But she has released 8 from the album in total, not necessarily in the UK. Plus the amount of singles continues to help sell the album!

I thought Videophone was a US only release yet it's on DS' Singles Releases. I've searched for it on iTunes!?

About A Girl should have been lead single, imo.

But yeah, I think this could work especially considering the album won't be released until after single #3. Problem is, the two singles so far haven't had great chart runs. 10 weeks in the top 40 between them?

Yeah Beyonce really did sell 'I am..' to think 'if i were a boy' was only out this time last year.

But, who can forget the PCD's debut album being flogged to death!

It practically had every song on the album in the space of two years or something. It just got dire in the end.

As for the sugas, good luck.

Hence why the singles need to be popped out and keep the album selling!

Disagree, Wait A Minute was one of the last releases and was one of their strongest.

They're going to need to release a lot of singles aren't they, they've released two without an album, so the next one I assume will tie in with the Album release so it's like a refresh in terms of promotion then another 3 singles to follow.

And i laugh at the "Song Ne-Yo wrote for us" did he write it for the Sugababes V.3.0 and V.4.0 are using it, or did he actually write it for V.4.0

Neyo wrote it as a favour to Keisha..and they are acquaintances!

I think that, they can keep releasing singles as away to make an extra few quid. If the rest of the songs have similiar chart runs and sales to the first 2, sweet 7 might as well go away. I dread to think what will happen in America

Bit off topic, but are they going to change the album title? It would be a bit silly calling it Sweet 7 seeing as its not the 7th studio album for any of them.

Rihanna and Beyonce could do it because they had a huge fanbase and the 'want' from consumers to release as much as possible.
Sugababes don;t, its almost like they know they're flogging off the end of the band.

I'm not a hater - I would genuinely like to see the Sugababes do well, but if they think their label will fund 6 releases from this album they're deluded. Seriously. With the best will in the world this album isn't going to be successful enough to warrant 6 releases. They'll be lucky to get to their 4th release.

If that was directed at me, i'm perfectly entitled to have an opinion. Just because you don't like it, its not my problem.

Plus after the dire Get Sexy Video or the mess that was About A Girl (I think my main memory of this version of Sugababes will be Heidi being constantly behind Jade and Amelle in the dance routine and the editors not caring enough to find a shot where she is dancing in time with them) I can't see fans calling out for more videos in the way they do with Beyoncé and Rihanna, a lot of the "releases" with Beyoncé, especially from B'Day were shot for the deluxe album and released to music stations as promo's for the album rather than singles.

Hopefully their videos for single #3 #4 #5 #6 will be more inspired than the shockingly bad Get Sexy video and the cringey About A Girl video.

I doubt they will try to flog the album with a total of six singles. That's absolutely absurd. I think they'll release "Wear My Kiss", perhaps one more after that, which will probably be the terrible "Little Miss Everything", then that will be it for "Sweet 7" and probably for V4.0 of the Sugababes.

Well, this is just a plan. It won't happen if they get one bad chart position.

I can see the rest of their singles following GS, AAG and WMK with a chart run like

Debut in top ten
Fall six places
Fall seven place
Fall four places
Drop five places
Out

They really need a hit from this album.
