Am I the only one who noticed that Rage Against The Machine's "Killing In The Name" is owned by Sony Music, the SAME company that own Cowell's label Syco Music?

So hang on, Cowell may not own Sony but his employers (and thus ultimatelly him as an employee) will benefit from the battle of two of their artists?

If this campaign was about beating the system and annoying Cowell why not pick a song from Universal, EMI or Warner? OK then maybe not Simon Fuller's Universal as they also produce American Idol but the other two?

You could have had Warner's "You Aint Seen Nothing Yet" by Bachman–Turner Overdrive...that would have been an awesome number one, been accessible to everyone and still send the message that it's about "real music" and bands.

Did the Group starters, The Morters realise this when they picked KIN?

Unless that is of course this is all one big ruse concocted by Sony, Cowell and Facebook with Jon and Tracy Morter getting a tidy little backhander safe in the knowledge their instantly forgettable names will fade from the public's mind in a couple of week's time.

There's thousands of "Get this song to number 1" type groups on Facebook so why did this particular one get so much exposure unless someone already with a hand in the media gave them a helping hand .

Cowell is everywhere I fear that next year we'll all find out we were just all taking part in a New Reality Show called "Can Cowell Get an Unlikely Heavy Metal Band to Xmas Number One?"

Also, Jon & Tracy Moter is an anagram for "Joe can't try morr&" , do you need any more evidence???

But seriously though, it is a bit stupid to pick a song made by the same record company isn't it?

P.S I'm not a Joe or RATM fan, but don't "hate" them either....

No you're not. Its been mentioned everywhere.

I didn't buy the song, but I approve of the campaign, purely because I'm sick of seeing the X Factor take the Christmas number 1 every year. I don't have anything against Sony, in fact I've got a Sony TV and stereo, so I'm a fan of the company. I don't think its Sony that people have a problem with. Plus I think most people realise that Simon Cowell is worth a fortune already. The profits from RATM won't have any major impact on him.
