Should they make 'melisma' i.e. warbling, vocal gymnastics an Olympic sport

Check this exellent article out.There is sound clips to explain what they are talking about.You can decide if it is done with taste or not.
People who use this style are Leona Lewis, Alexandra Burke, Mariah Carey, Whitney Housten, Steve Wonder, Aretha Franklin etc. to name a few.Last 4 have actual samples.

I was being facetious.Did you read the article compare.What do you think - is there a dividing line as far as you are concerned?

i don't get it you want everybody to use the big voice style?
I'm not a Whitney Howsten or Mariah Carey fan by the way.I would regard them as being overblown.I was just using the analogy of vocal gymnastics ( to sport.Also if you read the article alot of pop artists try & use this melisma style of singing to out compete each other, especially on Pop Idol.
I quite like Eritha Franklin by the way she uses the style with taste.
Get where I'm coming from now.Have you compared the music streams.
